Can't buy Zen with Astral Diamonds

I'm having a pretty big problem with the Astral Diamond Exchange, both in-game and through Gateway. The "Buy Zen" tab has zero entries, even though there's tons of entries on the "Sell Zen" tab, and any listings I post to buy zen are sitting in the "Listings" tab for days at a time before I get sick of waiting and remove them myself. This is not a case of there being more people selling than buying or of more people buying than selling.

This is definitely a glitch. If more people were buying than selling, the "Sell Zen" tab would have only a few listings. If more people were selling than buying, my offers would be snatched up instantly and not left sitting in the "Listings" tab for even a second. There's no reason at all for any of the tabs to be completely empty of listings, in either case; there would still be something showing in both the buy tab and the sell tab.

What's going on, Cryptic? Will this get fixed soon please?

It's a market, like the auction house. If you "get sick of waiting", you won't get Zen. So just keep your offer in it (be sure to place it for the 500 ratio) and it will pay out soon.

I and a few friends of mine bought about 10.000 Zen in the last 2 days without problems.

The "Sell Zen" tab shows 'buy' offers. Aka, you 'sell' to the other players who have offered to buy at a certain price. The sell listing is the amount of Zen Requested at that amount.

Offer to buy at 500 and it'll go through within a day. Please don't be so rude when people try to explain the system to you

Actually, I am looking at the Gateway interface right now.

The Sell Zen tab says this:

Below that are the listings for people who would like to buy Zen at 496-500 AD each. The interface also shows "requested quantity". There are requests to buy nearly a million Zen at 500AD each. If you add your request to that number, it will take some time to be filled, though people are reporting that they do get their Zen once they reach the top of the queue for it, as long as they aren't hoping to magically pay less than 500AD per.

You can't see listings under Buy Zen because all the Zen they post is immediately and automatically used to fill buy offers posted at 500AD. Even if somebody posted an offer to sell Zen at 496AD, the system would use it to fill 500AD purchase requests and not cheat the seller.

I suppose the biggest complaint out of this is that the headings for listings seem a bit backwards. Still, if you're looking to buy, if the market was not maxed out that tab would show you what was on offer from sellers. If you're looking to sell, then you see the listings from the buyers to whom you'd be selling.

The lack of ZEN offers appearing is not a bug. At the moment, demand for ZEN outstrips supply by such a degree that any ZEN put on the market is almost immediately sold.

When you look at the Sell ZEN tab, it is the amount of ZEN that YOU are putting into the system for others to buy. When you look the Buy ZEN tab, it is the amount of ZEN that YOU wish to buy for a set amount of AD per ZEN. Offers listed are for what is available to buy or sell for the offers given.

That you do not feel it should be so does not mean that the system is not WAI, nor does that justify the responses given in this thread that have since been removed.
