I hate the look of my CN bow, it really puts me off. Now I have not done a transmutation in this game but I am prepared to spend the AD on this eyesore.
Can anyone recommend a normal/realistic bow skin?
Thank you in advance.

You could buy any number of cheap low level green ones off the ah, and just equip them to see what they look like. (I do that sometimes.)
I use the Drake Seal bow (appearance only,) which I think looks pretty nice, (cork-screw horn.) Not very realistic though, and it looks like a holiday decoration with the plaguefire on it. (Man I hope we get the option to disable those visuals soon)
But yeah, on every class and character I have transmuted -everything-, and much of it is done from low level greens.. because I dislike the overly ornate styles they offer us.

I have used the Longbow of Dusk and Dawn, which is a BoP quest reward from the final lair in Vellosk (don't remember exact quest name). It is as simple as you could ask for.
The Exalted Ambusher's Longbow is the same except has the bug where it lacks a string. It's not even 10AD to buy one though to decide if you like the look enough to take the trouble to get the other.
the Turmian Longbow can be obtained from the Dread Legion Skirmish for free with some farming and is a free transmute. it is a rather nice looking, simple bow

Bow of the Wild FTW. Realistic looking and beautiful intricate designs on it - also not very big which is a win imo. However, you need to purchase the HR starter pack to obtain the bow BUT you also get the best cowl in the game (Hood of the Wild). These can be transmuted over and over as all you do is redeem them again once you have used it.
Our pain is self chosen.

Awesome, I did not know this. Hmm, this is a lot more AD's to spend for asthetics :-)
