Yeti-less Need for Mead quest

Hi!
So, I've been able to do the quest "Need for Mead" for the past 5 days, and the yeti has yet to come. It never, EVER appeares to me! All of my friends and guild mates get a Yeti Treat EVERY SINGLE DAY, one of them has already got the Young Yeti companion 3 times already! And don't tell me it appeares randomly, because "random" does not mean not appearing to one player, and appearing every time to everyone else.

    It appears sometimes - just before boss. For me 3/6. Yeti is moving fast and I am not sure if it will stay or disappear if you don't attack it - don't really want to experiment before I get companion.

    Funny thing in that area is that is drops normal identification scrolls instead of greater ones.

    I know, I looked up some videos to see if I'm doing anything wrong and still nothing. It did not appear today either.
    So dear Cryptic, can you tell me why? I'm most curious. Pfft, as if they'd help...

    The Yeti companion is a RNG pet hidden behind 2 layers of RNG xD knowing my luck with RNG I'll see the second coming before I ever see that thing lol

    Was reported by me weeks before it went live but never fixed , the group of enemy mobs right at the back at the very start of the skirmish are level 59 for some unknown reason.

    I've been experimenting with this quest based on something fellow forumite Valwryn posted, in that the yeti actually gets summoned when the Beast Handler blows his horn, so if you kill him too fast, no yeti.

    So far, there might be something to that. It's a bit difficult to keep one particular mob alive, especially with AI "helping" me, but as far as I can tell, Beast Handler horn blow animation = yeti.

    Oh wow , I'll give that a try , the last few runs I got no yeti spawn but I also burned the enemy as fast as possible , I'll give this a try and report the results.

    It worked!!! :D Or, the yeti simply decided to pay me a visit after 8-9 days of ignoring me, who knows. So thank you! :D

    Yeah it seems to work for me too , the beast handler ( or whatever he's called ) is with the last group of enemies that spawn and blows his horn when he is low on health and that seems to summon yeti .

    apparently if you keep both guards alive he also spawns. And I believe it is the second Horn blast for the beast handler. you will see him blow the horn but no dogs show up.

    Huh... I'll have to keep this in mind and try it. I had no clue that this is where the chance for that comes from. Thanks folks.

    There's 2 ways to spawn the Yeti:

    First way is on a timer( maybe 1 minute it appears). Kill everything fast without losing a guard. After Beast Handler group dies....Yeti Spawns.

    Second is to have the Beast Handler blow his horn twice. Easy if ya let the guards die.

    I got my yeti today after a week of trying. One thing I noticed was that the rewards were not the same. It seemed that EVERY TIME the reward was 1 Rank 4 Black Ice enchantment - the yeti would show up. If the reward included 2 Rank 4 Black ice Enchantments or 1 Rank 5 Black Ice Enchantment - the yeti never showed up - just saying. Today the reward included 1 Rank 4 Black Ice Enchantment, the Yeti showed up, dropped the yet treat dropped and it worked. Before the reward included 1 Rank 4 Black Ice Enchantment, the Yeti showed up, dropped the yet treat dropped and the treat was not accepted. 1 Rank 4 Black Ice Enchantment 'seems' to be the key.

    Update: Have found the treat with 2 Rank 4 or 1 Rank 5 Black Ice Enchantments. Still no second young Yeti.

    The yeti showing up is pure RNG. I've been testing the 'let the beast handler blow his horn twice' one. Did it yesterday, sat around waiting for him to blow his horn twice, then killed him. No Yeti. The day before, did the same thing and the yeti showed up. Sorry, it's just a superstition, it doesn't work.

    I have been trying different idea as well, including killing the Beast Handler after he blows his horn twice. For some reason, I have not seen the Yet in 4 days, which is making me go HMMMM. Before the update on Thursday, I was able to see him every time the Beast Handler blew his horn, but none since then. Just wondering if others are having the same results, or if it is luck of the draw now.

    During the lasts weeks, I have take notes. Nothing specials, rewards, strategy, nothing look to impact.
    In fact, that look to be a pure question of chance...
    One of my friends had it every day, and looted 2 yeti companions last week...
    In my case, for the lasts 2 weeks, yeti appears approximately 1 time per week... and of course the young yeti never accept the present.

    No place for talent, no reward for perseverance, just need to be lucky, and if you are not, be sure that the new companion is waiting for you... in your dreams

    I just noticed, that if you don't have contract signed with AB or TT it is still possible to get this quest, but in this case, when beastmaster blows his horn, instead of Yeti, a group of other mobs appears. I tested this several times with 100% repeating rate.

    the group of mob can show even when you have a contract signed, from my own experience. I get them about 90% of time, and sometimes I get the Yeti and don't have a contract.

    just read this after finishing, realized I ahd not picked a faction, still got the treat.
