Hammerstone Queen quest

Any idea how to get the item that starts this reliably? For those that don't know, it's a quest that begins from an item drop in Dwarven Valley. I sometimes get it with TR, sometimes GWF, and couldn't get it once on CW? Tried to kill same mob packs, didn't work.

Interested in this cause I got some epic crafting material as rewards that I will need for my Black Ice gear tasks. It's also irritating I cannot get it each day for each toon.

Also does an equivalent exist for the Icewind Pass area?

    On the test shard, and live, it has only come when I have killed Corrupt Dwarves in Dwarven Valley. Since live I've gotten it on two different characters, but not twice on the same one.

    I don't know if it's a one time thing, but if I were you I'd start killing every darn lil' Dwarf I see... ;)

    PS - Nothing in Icewind Pass that I know of is an equivalent.

    I believe this is a weekly quest item drop. I got it once on the weekend and then again on monday and none since.

    It's definitely not weekly, it's daily, and thanks kolatmaster. I got it from some corrupted dwarf thing once too, I believe.

    It is weekly ,it resets Sunday and you can only get it once per week.

    Seconding this. It's absolutely weekly. I got it before the weekly reset and then after the weekly reset and not once in between or after and I've killed far more corrupted dwarves doing dailies and encounter than is healthy.

    I'm certain that when the reset comes along in a couple of days, I'll get it to drop again.

    I second on that weekly sentiment. At least that's the impression I got on the preview. I never got it twice there.

    On Preview it was not Weekly,

    I could get these when just running around doing 2-3 man HEs and anything with the Dwarves around the Mine entrances and Closed up homes.

    All you really had to do was run around killing those. I once had one, started the quest, completed it, went back out of the Mine, killed more Dwarves and got another one. Which I did too, then got another one in my inventory, and eventually ended up discarding it because I was getting too many quests and could not complete them all.

    At the time, I did not realize the value of what it was I had as the crafting supplies can be pretty essential.

    One of my chars has gotten it twice this week.

    I have done the quest on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for all of my chars, but have since been unable to get the item to drop again, even after farming nothing but Dwarves for several hours.

    It seems to me that there may be a 3x per character limit for this quest

    It is not weekly. How hard can be to understand I have already done it like 3 times/week.

    Any chance we get a developer comment on this or a moderator can push the question forward?

    I got twice, one after the other. Completing one removes the other from the inventory as well.

    I couldn't get it at all after I made this topic lol... I even farmed all the **** dwarf are including HEs on my CW to go faster, yet nothing dropped... nice job...

    I used to get 4 in a row before the last update. None after the update tho.

    What a surprise , the quest item started dropping again today , the same day that Briggrins tomb and the pvp weekly quests reset , the reason you did it more than once last week was because the first day it was possible to get into Dwarf valley was Sunday so you would have got it Sunday then again on Monday when the weeklies reset then again today because the weeklies reset .

    I got the quest 6 times, one (and only one) on each of my toons. So I'm pretty convinced it is a weekly quest.

    I believe you are wrong, as the first day I visited DV, I got it two times, had both of them in my inventory at same time. This could have been a bug though or something edited out since then. I still believe it is just rare drop from the dwarves (the tougher ones). I too wish I could get them more accurately dropped, but haven't figured out a way.

    Also I haven't noticed similar quest in Icewind Pass.
    Give us 4 or more power/item bar profiles so we can change powers and items with one click that are suited for the situation.

    Forgot about this topic.

    It is weekly indeed, I was wrong because some server resets. Been only getting it once/week/toon since.

    I was able to get it back to back when Dwarven Valley just opened, but I think that was due to opening just before the weekly reset. Hammerer's tend to drop the item more than any other dwarf, although I do believe I've seen the drop from a warrior, but never from a crossbowman or an arcanist. It can generally take up to 50 dwarfs with RNG tho your milage may very. It also seems to drop more readily if you have the quest to get the hammer stone picks to break the gears, granted you will fight a lot of hammerers and warriors during that quest.

    Multiple dwarves in a single pack can drop the hammer and you can pick all of them up (unlike other quest-initiating items: Skrymir's Beard, Phylactery, etc.). You can only use one though.

    When module 3 started, the very first day it dropped for me. Then the day after. And for another drop I had to work HARD killing dwarves for almost an hour. After this terrible experience it didn't drop for me at all, since I limited my visits in DV for dailies only.
    But yeah, I have a feeling that RNG is to blame again. ;)
