As the title says, can i avoid the double XP next weekend while playing or do i need to go play another game that weekend ?

No trolling here, i really want to know because i dislike double xp a lot and would like to decide what im going to play next weekend. ty.
Would love to have a Toggle Double XP option, so i can play on Double XP events. TY.

. . . There's no way to disable XP gain, unfortunately. This has been a feature asked time and again. Hopefully we'll get it one day. :)

. . . My suggestion: play a character you want to level and not one you don't.

They should implement double XP sort of like how CO does it - you talk to a contact, who grants you an 8 hr or so long double XP buff, which can be refreshed as often as needed during the event. That way, anyone who doesn't want the buff, can skip getting it. Another plus side to this way of doing it would be that you could log in, get the buff on any of your characters that you couldn't play for long, get the buff, and come back later to take advantage of the buff when you do finally get more time.

All of my characters are already 60, but I do have a minor surplus of companions won in CTA's that I have yet to level. There are also a couple that I am giving serious consideration for upgrading to Epic mainly because they will be more beneficial in Mod3. The double XP will help immensely with that.
But if your one that likes to take their time and explore maps entirely while leveling at your own pace, I could see where they would need an opt-out for this.

An XP disabler would have been a great feature at launch. It's kind of silly that it still isn't here given how common it is in other MMOs. I remember seeing tons of complaints about players leveling so fast they out-leveled content back when there was more activity here.

I have leveled one of each class to 60. I play several that I enjoy, others I leveled while waiting for new classes and/or the upcoming Mod 3 Level 60s XP tally.

I still do have a couple lower levels that I have no need to increase XP at the double this weekend provides. I want them to remain lowbies.

My question, in L 60 zones, since the Mod 3 Level 60 XP tally doesn't start until May 13, will the L 60 players in the L 60 zones get any perks?

Perks like increased drops of "sparks" "swords"or "scripts," etc. Perks like reducing the time to rerun quests more than once a day while in zone, etc.

+1 for a double XP disabler.

Why do you want to disable the double xp event?

Probably because you already level way too fast in NW, and you outgrow content (i've been consistently doing content 4-6 levels below my own while leveling), so there's no challenge anymore...

If you can level using the double xp weekend solely on mobs, you can save the quests until you reach 60, when the cap awards power points, rough AD and other stuff.

. . . I have friends that have characters that they only play when they're together because otherwise, they'd out-level each other in a heart-beat. Also, they want to do all the Skirmishes as they get to them in the Content Areas. If you out-level the area Skirmishes, you cannot do them until they are redone as a CTA and if you do them before or after completing/starting an area, you break immersion for those who wish to experience each area, as it was meant to be. Having a simple XP toggle would allow them to play other Skirmishes and partake in Professions and Praying, as well as World and Guild events without out-leveling their friends. Add an Bonus XP Event and you pretty much alienate those players from playing for sure, especially if they don't have many characters.

There is nothing like "immersion" in this game. So nothing to worry.
And if you play together you play together, so both have still the same level, with and without double xp.

If you see it in a logical way, there is no problem, only peoples (again *sigh*)

Well I can think of only 1 good reason, twinking in PVP

OR leveling out skirmish lvl band.
OR leveling out of content/reward band.
OR outpacing guild mates for dungeon frame.

    OR...
    OR...
I'm sure there are some I've forgotten.
This isn't WoW, the PvP/twink problem isn't so nearly evident or a problem, in this game anyone can get geared top notch for their lvl frame, there isn't such twink only drops as in that other stupid game.

. . . The logic here is that they are "forced" to play those characters together, else they would out-level each other. Which I stated in the very first sentence of my post: "I have friends that have characters that they only play when they're together because otherwise, they'd out-level each other in a heart-beat."

. . . If they had the choice to disable XP gain, they would be free to do various things on those characters without their friend(s). I used to have one such character, but couldn't stand it sitting around doing nothing and eventually gave in to leveling her.

    Does not compute!
Then play with a 60 level character and you don't get XP!

Zebular you should stop about complaining that you level your friends away while they are offline. This is your problem (and your impatience) and has nothing to do with the event

I don't think this is an uncommon problem. I had it too.

It's actually a common problem when you want to play with friends, but also have some extra time to do minor stuff (invoke, gather resources, level companions etc.) that doesn't make you ahead in terms of campaign/storyline but might prevent you from doing some content (skirmishes, pug dungeons etc) because you outlevel it.

The "perk" is your companions also benefit from dbl xp, so this is a great chance to level companions.

Otherwise, just play your 60s for fun, as you would usually do on the weekend.

. . . I'm not complaining for myself and I do think you mistake my words for emotional complaining, when in fact my words are just feedback on a system that needs a small tad of attention, in my opinion. It is not my problem nor my impatience, it is a flaw with the design of the XP system that is easily fixed and if done right, would have no impact upon those who wouldn't use it. Such a feature is a game's quality of life, or for a better business term, user friendliness. I still fail to see a proper reason that should prevent such an XP toggle.

. . . About my "patience" however, and I'm not even going to go into my real life issues that have honed patience upon me, in game details though; For me, whether we get such a toggle or not will not hinder my play. I have 15 characters of level ranges from 30 to 60 as well as 8 character slots open yet, I think. I haven't actually "leveled" a character in months, letting three and soon four get to 60 starting at level 11 all the way to 60 on prayers and leadership. I actually have an enormous amount of patience. I am an extreme alt-o-holic, XP toggles do not impact my playstyle one bit. I've been playing MMOs since 1997 and stayed with UO for almost 10 years, if you've done that, I'd bargain you'd have patience.

An XP toggle would ruin low level PVP. PVP is already a mess, so you might not want to add to the pile.

I'd like to see a way to opt out of the xp from invoking and leadership as well.
I want the ADs from invoking regularly, and the chance to get coal wards from the 7-box. I want the ADs and other rewards from leadership. However, I want to level my characters through play, not through invoking and leadership.

Yeah I do think it is dumb that leadership grants XP. No other profession does that.

I really hate double xp, my character levels too fast and I can't enjoy playing through all content without becoming overleveled for the area (it makes it more boring if you're too strong for that area).

Swtor does this too, and I always have to go play something else till it's over..
    ..sigh
Some sort of 'xp toggle off/or slower' for this game and for swtor's would be awesome,
but I don't see them or this company doing that.

    Sigh, we complain,
because like I said if you had read,
if you overlevel in certain games due to double xp,
you can become too strong and the area become boring and/or
you end up missing content you would normally have access to.

For anyone who likes to take the time in pve and slowly enjoy the games content, without rushing, this is bad.
That is why people like me want to make it optional, which wouldn't effect people, like you, who actually like it.

Yeah, well, don't care, I don't like it because it hugely ruins the experience for me,
for reasons I stated above, and that I shouldn't need to repeat.
You may like it, but not everyone does,
and I don't see why having it as an optional thing instead of mandatory, is so horrible for everyone else.
