Audio
Lowered the volume of one of the male player grunts because it was too loud.

Character
  • Black Ice armor has received a color tinting pass.
  • Captain Dunmish has some new duds-mish.
  • Updates to the Wild Noble Fashion items.
  • Various updates on the new Tiefling Horns.

Classes and Balance
  • General
    • Unflagged players of opposing contracts can now receive heals, buffs and be revived.
    • Healing Depression will now properly apply during Open World PVP and Domination. You may not use PVE potions while affected by Healing Depression.
    • Icewind Dale boons (PvE and PvP) now have updated icons.
    • PVP Campaign: Boons: Inspiring Defense: This power now has the following description, "Nearby allies gain up to 10% additional damage resistance as their health decreases while you are flagged for PVP. (Does not stack)"
  • Control Wizard: Teleport has its missing FX again!
  • Guardian Fighter: Feats: Reckless Attacker will no longer incorrectly grant Gear Score.
  • Hunter Ranger: Half Elf: Dilettante will now correctly grant +1 Intelligence to Hunter Rangers.

Content and Environment
  • Added "Heroic Encounter:" to all of the heroic encounter titles.
  • Adjusted the initial amount and additional waves of enemies in the Barbarian Invasion Heroic Encounter.
  • Captain Dunmish now has the subtitle "Envoy of Icewind Dale".
  • Dwarven Runes in the Ebonfronst Scree now all properly count for their quest completion.
  • Eglendar no longer holds a mug in his hand. He couldn’t hold it straight when players would talk to him.
  • Injured Wolves can now be interacted with while in combat in the Yeti Attack! Heroic Encounter.
  • Moved the Corrupt Bears Heroic Encounter to a more appropriate location.
  • Protect the Caravan Heroic Encounters now always properly clean up if it fails.
  • Removed invisible enemy spawn trigger volumes for wolves and yetis that were in Icewind Pass.
  • Saying "Let me think about it." no longer kicks you out of talking to Bowen Brant or Anara the Cerulean.
  • Set up an interact and delay to the captives in "Lost on the Pass". They no longer just run off right away. You can interact with them immediately after winning the fight, or wait 10 seconds. Either way, nearby players will get progress.
  • Text revisions to fix typos and clarify details on many quests for Icewind Pass.
  • The draw distance on the PvP flagging border is now twice as far.
  • The Icewind Dale PvP daily quests have received updated way points and interact objects.
  • The Icewind docks travel interact now pops up an Icewind Dale map.
  • The flow and some quest text has been updated for the initial day Icewind Dale quest content including 'Icewind Adventures' and 'Local Luminaries'.
  • The text for breaking a contract with Ten-Towns or the Arcane Brotherhood is now orange to stand out from other dialog options.
  • There are fewer Yetis in the Yeti Rampage Heroic Encounter.
  • There are now guards for the safe areas in Icewind Pass
  • Updated several of the interacts and requirements for the 'Lighting the Pass' quest.
  • Updated text on the PvP campaign to be more truthful about the rewards given for the tasks there.
  • Updated the tutorial quest and popups for mining Black Ice.
  • Updates to the cutscenes in the first day quests in Icewind Dale.
  • Additional propping and environmental polish updates to Caer-Konig.
  • Black Ice deposits have received some aesthetic updates.
  • Icewind Pass has an updated and more detailed map for more clear divisions of playable and PvP areas.
  • Icewind Pass has had numerous aesthetic environmental updates and fixes.
  • Icewind Pass has received several aesthetic FX updates and fixes.
  • Knucklebone Trout interactables now have more grime and blood on them.
  • The mannequins in front of the black ice forge are now wearing black ice gear.
  • Updates to the black ice forge area in Caer-Konig.

Enemies
  • Bears and wolves now have more ambient animations, oh my!
  • Fixed an issue with some Heroic Encounter encounters were stacking buffs causing them to be stronger than intended.
  • Icewind Adventurers have improved stats to better match the area they inhabit.
  • Icewind Heroic Encounter enemies now have increased control resistance (subject to change).
  • Updated Yeti death animations.

Foundry
  • Added Icewind Dale related maps and props.

Items and Economy
  • Beorne now offers a White quality Black Ice mining pick to replace any lost picks.
  • Black Ice Shaping
    • Now has a basic Black Ice Refinement instead of just the Mass Refinement.
    • Now has a final profession image.
    • Refinement tasks are now allowed to have more than one active at a time.
    • Resource requirements for tasks have been updated.
    • Resources are now listed in collections to add another source of information on how to get them.
  • Changed the 6 day celestial coin item to a Chest of Campaign Treasures that will give a choice of Sharandar or Dread Ring campaign currency items.
  • Companion, mount, artifact and campaign collections have been updated for added and changed items.
  • Fixed the Black Ice item sets requiring more items than were in the set.
  • Many items now have updated icons. This includes new artifacts, profession resources and equipment.
  • New artifacts have received a text pass to improve formatting
  • Elixir of Steadfast Devotion: This potion now properly grants a buff to Regeneration.
  • The Events collection has had points and the item order adjusted.
  • The Scrimshaw vendor now accepts a new currency that drops off players killed in Open PvP.
  • The Scrimshaw vendor now has additional equipment for sale!
  • The stats for Black Ice gear has been updated for classes to be more appropriate and desireable.
  • The rewards for Heroic Encounters have been updated to more reasonable rates.

User Interface
  • Added a "Do not show me this again" check box for the confirmation window when selling unidentified items.
  • Buffs and Debuffs are now separated into separate trays to better keep track of ones you may care about.
  • Changing the Heroic Encounter notification style to use new art and a slightly different text when a new hotspot appears somewhere on the map.
  • Chat Channel Configuration: Clicking anywhere outside the text entry box now commits the tab name. Also, 'resetting to defaults' changes the tab list to be unselected, because getting the detail info to update correctly after a reset was strangely difficult.
  • Claim Hotspot Reward HUD element: No longer disappears if the reward notification is present; it fades out slightly instead so that the rest of the mission reward UI doesn't reposition.
  • Heroic Encounter related UIs have been updated for various aesthetic and bug fixes.
  • Item Empowerment now has additional tooltips of what stats each level of empowerment will grant you.
  • Names over players' heads has been moved up slightly so they do not cover the tops of heads anymore.
  • New Artifact collections have updated background art.
  • Player mercenary contract icons no longer show up for players on the other side of walls and other line of sight blockers.
  • PvP standings can now be sorted by rank and shows the proper icons.
  • The Auction Broker now has a dialog option to go to the Auction House directly instead of looking at his suggested items first.
  • The character window has had minor layout adjustments such as Guild name positioning.
  • The default zoom values for the map in Icewind Pass has been adjusted to better defaults.

    This is currently scheduled to be updated to Preview starting at 4pm PST and should be up by around 5pm PST barring any issues.

    Eldarth pointed out that preview Foundry has been offline since the last update. Will it be online again so they can check out their new goodies?

    Edit: I think I am the only person who commented on the strangeness of Captain Dunmish's original attire.

    Thank you for this - it should make paragon trees other than Conqueror a lot more viable in the public's opinion, as opposed to being ignored because their "GS is too low for a Guardian Fighter"

    If this is the case then are you or have you added white gauntlets to the profession vendor , we have been asking about this issue for 3 days now and nobody seems to want to give us an answer .

    The rewards for Heroic Encounters have been updated to more reasonable rates

    dose this means rewards are nerfed or buffed?

    I looked a couple of times through the patch notes, but haven't found this. They either didn't put them in the store or didn't mention adding them in the patch notes. I hope for latter tho.

    "Lighting the Pass", I some how ran out of the stuff needed to light the beacons and can not advance the quest. Can't get more of it either. I think I was attacked while in the middle of using one of the fill things and it took the oil but did not fill the spot so I could not light it without using another vial, which lead to me being short a vial.

    EDIT: Just did it again and ran out again and was not attacked while doing any of the lighting. I think one of them took two vials..

    Yeah it's a known bug , it might have been fixed but just not appear in the patch notes.

    The beacon closest to the exit consumes 2 vials instead of 1. This what causes impossibility to complete the quest.

    I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere, but how or what flags a person as "in PvP" for the open zone sections that allow it? Are these completely separate zones that you must choose to enter, or is walking into an area enough to get you flagged? I'd hate to be exploring the zone, get flagged accidentally, and suddenly find myself dead. Are the areas clearly and explicitly marked, and is it not possible to accidentally venture into them?

    I hope they added white gauntlets to the gold vendor in PE, otherwise, they're in for a lot of forum drama if this goes live without this...

    It has a bright red coloring in the part that is the PVP zone, yes. Almost impossible to miss at once it's fixed. (Which I think is this patch.)

    the PvP flagging area is in the North West section of the map for Icewind Pass zone. It is covered in red on the map (though the map is currently off). When you get near it, you get a warning that you will be flagged soon and you can also see a magical barrier appear on the ground. If you cross the barrier, you get flagged.

    Someone in the legit channel mentioned they got one from a heroic encounter, so that appears to be the way to get more.

    They got the Black Ice gloves, which is equipment. The white gauntlet diogene is talking about is the crafting tool.

    It showed up as white so I assumed it was the crafting one. Come to think of it though, I guess everything linked on preview shows as white on live right? If so, that would be the source of my confusion.

    Yeah, if there is no data on the item in the client you are currently using it will show up as white. Same thing happens if someone from CO and STO linked to in an item while you were on NW.

    It is still there, because the patch got cancelled.

    Actually that's not quite right. I tried it in reverse as well (south to north), checking my inventory each time to see how many vials were consumed. They all take one each. What seems to happen is, triggering a beacon tells the game to destroy one vial and play the animation, but it only checks for vials after that's done. In other words, by the time it checks to make sure you've got the vials, if it's the last beacon then you're already out (no matter what order you try to light them in). So it gives you the you-must-have message instead of doing what it's supposed to do.

    That's also why you can keep interacting with the sparkly bit and it'll keep playing the animation and sound effects even after all your bile's gone.
