Internet Connection Speed

I'm dropping my internet connection speed (and cable tv all together) until my wife finds a job. Is a 10 Mbps connect fast enough to play without issue?

I run a 15 Mbps connection which yileds about 1.8 Mb/s and the game runs just fine.

So I imagine you'll be fine as well, so long as too many other computers aren't accessing your network during your play time.
    contents to be decided

Dropping the wife can be the cheapest thing or the most expensive thing he could do.

You know why divorce is so expensive?

1Mbps (128KB) connection should be more than you need. The game is not bandwidth intensive outside of game patches.

latency, loss, etc are more important for game performance than actual speed. Most mmo's don't require much for speed other than patches.

10 Mbps? aaaaaahhhhahahahahahahaha...sorry...sorry...(takes a deep breath). I'm on 6 Mbps DSL and have the game open, multiple tabs with streaming videos, my son has his Xbox and PC going, we have ANOTHER pc going, 2 cell phones, a tablet and a Roku...and there is still no issue....I would only worry if your were on dial up...#richpeopleproblems

It is very simple I mean there are many online apps for internet speed checking so go that app and check your internet speed and if you got less amount of internet speed then contact with your internet service provider and get that speed for which you are paying:D

Yes and no. Yes, it is enough to have fun with the game, but no, because you will always run into issues in some form with the Internet and the game's servers.

Game updates will take longer and you should be prepared to wait several hours for the next major update to download. Even the smaller updates now and then will cause you to wait 10 to 30 minutes sometimes.

Other than these do I doubt you will notice much of a difference.
    Stay frosty.

. . . I ran the game just fine when I had a 10Mbps cable connection. I am now on a 50+Mbps cable connection though. It is rare that any speed Broadband will affect MMO gameplay as the bits and packets are quite small and most of the information is already on your computer when you installed the game and patched it. The only time such becomes an issue is when either you're doing something else or someone on your home network is doing something else that eats up a ton of bandwith.

. . . The exception to this is Satellite broadband and is actually not a bandwith issue but Latency caused by the delay it takes information to go from the ground, to the satellite(s), to the ground and back again. Satellite broadband is the 2nd worst internet type to play MMOs on, with Dial-Up being the worst, but will generally be fine for anything else. This is because MMOs are very sensitive to latency with their packets and bits.

. . . Another issue may arise depending on your processor and ram power for if you're doing so many things that your computer cannot process the information fast enough, you'll experience "bandwith-resembling lag" but one can usually tell its one's system because non-internet programs will experience the slow downs also. If you've been fine in this regard before, you should still be fine afterwards.

Be wary of some of these Uber Speed internet connections......they can give you 15M plus speeds but then you might be sharing the same node with your neighbors which during peek hours....you lose all bandwidth.
