Good catch. I actually see two new things,

    Item: [Star Metal Gauntlet]
    Currency: Priceless Thayan Antiquity

    See below,

Note it says ONE of the following.

Star Metal Gauntlet probably has a higher chance of goodies from the Arcane Coffer, maybe removing the chance for Rank 4 and Peridots? One can only hope!

But I'm also thinking that it must be rare and probably BoP.

Too bad that Gauntlets are single use though, and you can't get it permanently.

If I had to guess then you probably have to use that Gauntlet to have a chance to get the Thayan book of the dead ,if that is the case it'll be interesting to see if the drop rate is as bad as that of the Adamantine gauntlets Artifact.

Priceless Thayan Antiquity will drop from new boxes, gauntlet will help droping artifact from Dread Ring
and Thayan Book is unique drop from new box also.

If I had to guess, I'd say the new gauntlet is a one time use, perhaps increasing the drop rates on some of the good stuff.

I want to point out it does not say one of the following, it says the following. Looks like all 3 come with it and most likely as they are from lockboxes.

It seems that the new "Sack of Thayan Riches" is purchased with the same currency that the existing Bag of Treasures is. Which presents an interesting question: Are the old Bags going away, will the new Sacks actually Have a new currency needed to buy them, will it just require more of the exisiting currency or will it be something else?

The new Sack will completely invalidate the old one if the currency does not change, so I think the old bag is going away. And the new bag will become MUCH more desirable.

If you look carefully at the screenshot, you'll see that the item required to buy the new sack is called "Priceless Thayan Antiquity", though it seems to share an inventory icon. And the shop lists two kinds of currency as accepted.

Why do you say that? The "Bag of Thayan Treasures" still uses the normal Thayan Relic Fragment and is unchanged. It is just the new "Priceless Thayan Antiquity" does not seem to have its own icon so from my screenshot would only appear to be the same.

Good call, I see exactly what you are talking about. Missed it the first time. Thanks.

Wait... "Star Metal"? Wasn't that what Conan used to fight the serpentmen in the cartoon?

Yeah, it was used in Conan the Adventurer, but it also exists in DnD

It is possible that the new Thayan Book of the Dead is only available through these Star Metal Gauntlets instead of as a rare drop in the next lockbox. Would be nice if it increased the drop rate for the rarer items, but it will probably have its own unique items that you can get with it.

It used to be known as "meteoritic iron" and was a step below adamantine in terms of material strength.

    They're a lockbox thing.

I doubt they would do that. I'm going with star metal increases drops better stuff than the adamantine gauntlet. The major drops from the lockbox are the Thayan Book of the Dead and a mount.
