    Ok ok..

My pc is and i7, 16Gb mem DDR3, geforce GTX 560Ti, HD 2 Tb...

This lag happens only in CTA.. any other DG is normal... So i think the problem is not my pc..
Haven't had a chance to log in yet today, however it sounds like this is a stress test type problem with the event causing server problems. It reminds me of problems I've seen in other games from the description where the event works fine with low population of preview servers but you get real server populations all hitting it at once and the server can't handle it.

Random Paula Abdul reference... man, you must be old! Wait a second, I got the reference... HAMSTER.

Yes, rubberbanding was HORRIBLE in CTA. Everything was fine in Dread Ring though.

Lag was too much, drawbridge didn't even come down. We all left the party.

    Huh.

Servers are OFFLINE for a couple hours.
    Servers come ONLINE.
Servers are not even warmed-up, yet.
Servers SLAMMED with a bazillion players trying to enter different instances of the same content.

Ummm, put yourselves into the Server's shoes.
I imagine you'd be all bicheee and grumpeee and not want to 'serve', too.

Give it an hour or two to at least warm-up and 'balance itself out'.

    LOL

Repeat thread. So I guess I'll repeat my comment on this exact same subject:

Everyone is trying to rush into the same content. Servers have to create new instances and serve the same content all at once and then after only just being turned-on (not even warmed-up, yet). So all you complainants just think about that for a minute.

Now take a wild guess as to WHY there is so much 'rubber-banding' going on, again?

Thus is a major 'duh' factor subject line.

PROTIP: Wait for the rush to balance-out and the servers will balance themselves out. Instead of everyone trying to rush-in at once, have a little patience and try again later. The event runs for an entire WEEK.

Wasn't aware the servers need "warming up". It's not like a petrol engine on a cold day.

Sounds more like me to be honest. Wake me up after only a couple hour nap and I'm more likely to just stare at you blankly than do anything useful.

    Only through the weekend, actually.

It is pretty much unplayable right now with rubberbanding and the inability to get spells off as a CW. Did get my Swashbuckler though...

Judging by the AH, the dedicated event farmers are managing to get many swashbucklers, indeed.

I got into CTA immediately this morning. That was the only thing that went right.

I'm a level 12 CW. The other members of my group are two level 27s, a level 22, & a level 7. What????

& of course, as mentioned by everyone else ...... laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. Barely capable of getting spells off. Can't tell if they're even affecting mobs. NO FUN.

So then I went to Blacklake Terror & Ork Assault & had lots of fun.

Not a good tip. Check again in game, it should say "3d 22h left for this event" on your screen as of now. This is how the game runs now before the US comes online in the evening, imagine what will happen on Friday and over the weekend when there is a large uptick in population.

I have been playing since beta and I do not remember ever seeing lag this bad in the game and this is off-peak for the servers. The CTA is literally unplayable and others have been reporting similar problems in Gauntlgrym, for example.

Probably a safe bet. I'd like to add in the suggestion to extend the even by a day or two once they get it working.

When trying to queue for CTA from Sharandar, I get this message when I have been invited that the map manager cannot find the map. I went to Protector's Enclave and had no issues queuing and entering the CTA map. So, someone forgot to put a link in from Sharandar to CTA. Please add one.

    Thanks... Terry

That would be nice, since I don't get much chance to play on the weekend.

Anyone else notice the lack of an Administrator, Monitor or Community Manager <anyone official>, Saying anything .... It's the old adage if we don't admit to an issue .. Everything working as intended.

No, this is just fairly typical of forum activity. Their CM is usually much more active on Twitter, where the problem has been acknowledged.

CTA taken down now. I cannot see the event timer or queue up. So, hopefully a fix, and preferably an extension, is in the works.

I hate to say it but if I was the owner of this company, I would do a mass firing and hire people who knew how to program games. This game was playing smoother in the closed beta. There is no excuse for this constant bad programming. This is one of the reasons that my guild has sworn off giving anymore money to this game or company.

The only restitution for this is an extension for the event for the amount of hours/days it has been lagging. I remember cryptic giving us extra hours for their first CTA event because the queue never worked properly.
The only thing to hope for in actually playing this without cryptic fixing this is to play at specific times. I live in the U.S.A and often times during nighttime, pass midnight, the lagging (if any) stops.

Edit: Wooops, a minute too late, looks like it's going to be fixed.

You all mean that this is worst than all that lag with "Monsters on ice"??? They managed to fix that after a little while, so hoping this can be fixed as well.
The lag is worse than MOI with the Ranger glitch, believe it or not. Glad they pulled server down for a quick fix.
Only will have lost 2-3 hours :)

Welcome to CTA, in which this level-discrepancy is an intended feature. The monster's level is somewhat modular (I can't think of a better way to explain it) which is why you'll see a skull instead of where the level indicator is on their name bar. That means that you'll be hit by them as if they were at your same level at 16, and the level 60s will be hit by them as if the monster was also at a level 60.

And yeah, the lag will get fixed, but it's no doubt that it makes the event fall off the fun spectrum entirely.
