Hey,

There is a bug that deletes the weapon (either/both hands) when changing appearance.

I recently found a 'Dread Servito's Dagger' (off-hand) http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Dread_Spire_Treasure_Trove

A cool looking dagger, so i immediately change my current offhand to look like the Dread Servito's Dagger. no problem.
Then i noticed if i click on the drop-down to change my Main-hand appearance i had the option of the Dread Servito's Dagger. so i clicked it and my off-hand disappeared along with the rank 8 enchantment.
Thinking it was a glitch that could be reversed i equipped a new off hand and changed the appearance back to the Dread Servito's Dagger (which was now my main hand) and then i lost my main hand, along with the rank 8 enchantment and the greater lifedrinker.

So in total i lost an epic mainhand, and epic offhand, 2 x rank 8s and a greater weapon enchantment.

This seems to be a glitch that has to do when changing the appearance of an offhand to a mainhand and visaversa.
It could only be to do with the Dread Servito's Dagger but im not game enough to try it out.

Anyone else seem this?

Thanks,

Kunda.

The problem here is that using an item to change appearance is a one-time deal. The item used in transmutation is consumed like dye. There is no permanent library of skins, but you can keep a look by using a transmuted item to transmute an upgrade, consuming your original item in the process. You can do this as many times as you wish, but it will keep consuming items (including any socketed items you don't remove first).

The menu shows appearance "Dread Servitor's Dagger" because it's an appearance option available from your inventory. The appearance of your original offhand was not available because it was overwritten.

There's a big warning popup when you change appearance telling you that it will consume the thing you are using to change appearance, even if it is just dye. You didn't read that?

The bug is that the dagger was not in my inventory, it was equipped.

Sorry, that could have been clearer. I was using "inventory" synonymously with "possession". You had it on you (in bag or equipped), therefore the game viewed it as a valid item to ask you if you'd like to use it to change appearance.

    There is no bug involved.
