Mailbox says I have new mail constantly.

I've been having this bug for a time, hoped it would be fixed in the maintenance, but I'm having an issue right now where if I click my mail or check my mail the button will constantly light up in the fashion that says you have new mail.

It disappears after you change areas but if you are in the same zone for a while it can be really annoying to see. Hoping this gets fixed soon.

    It sounds like the "switch" wasn't flipped. Though this is still some kind of bug, perhaps you can send yourself a message, then read the message just to see if it forces that "switch" to toggle for you. I have no idea if that will work or not, but it's what I'd do to try to fix it.

    I'm just throwing out a suggestion here. :)

    I started being affected by this bug today... :(

    It started when I sent a mail earlier this day to myself to transfer some stuff to another character. Actually I remember sending 2 mails with 2 different characters so I could collect stuff with a 3rd one. It's the first time I do this twice, so this could be something that "broke" the mailbox, if anyone could try and reproduce this bug...

    EDIT: Also, mails were without object (not sure if this is important).

    EDIT2: I tried what angrysprite suggested and it seem the bug is gone now!

    Sadly, the standard response of "this bug has existed since beta" applies here. It also sometimes fails to show when you do have mail too.

    I have some hazy recall of patch notes some time back claiming to have fixed it, but I could be imagining this.

    . . . This happens when you delete a selected mail that hasn't been marked as read. Sometimes, when going into the inbox, the first mail will be highlighted and readable without it getting marked as read. If you delete it in this state, it will continue to flag your mail as having new mail. The fix for this is to simply send yourself a new mail (no attachments needed), highlight it so it gets marked as read, and then delete it.
