Unable to remove item in AH?

I posted an item and I wanted to take it down before the end date, but it says 'please try again later'. It has said this for the past couple of days.
Any tips or ideas would be great.

If you put a minimum bid then you cannot remove it if somebody already bid on it, if you messed up and put a high value item on for a low minimum bid and it looks like it'll sell for a poor price then you need to go on a alt and up the bid , I don't think you can bid on your own characters items from the character who put the item up for sale , this is why I only ever list a buyout price , it costs a little more to list but is far less nerve wracking.

Nope no bids on it at all. Not sure what the problem is.

Are you trying to remove it via Gateway? If so, try in-game. Gateway has a weird bug that won't let you remove auctions under some circumstances.

Yes, Gateway is bugged. I only use Gateway to browse and do buyouts, never to do anything else.

In reply to the above: I always list a buyout AND a minimum bid - to force a buyout.

Playing the AH can be tricky, but a lot of fun if you know the tricks. So here's one of my techniques that I'll share:

Post an item for auction - search for the same item to see what the going prices are. Sort by lowest buyout price. If you're willing to sell for that price, then list your item for 500AD to 1000AD less than the lowest buyout price.

Then, set a minimum bid for no more than 3% to 5% below the buyout price (or no more than 1% or 2% if it's high-ticket item). This creates a sense of urgency for anyone wanting that item, and the minimum bid is so close to the buy-out that people who can afford the minimum bid will just do a buy-out immediately, rather than take a chance on being outbid for the lowest-cost of that item.

I listed a companion for 2.1 Million AD (the lowest cost buyout was for 2.15 Million AD) and set the minimum bid to 2 Million AD. Before I did this I bought-out some dye pack or something, then listed my item. By the time I got to the Mail Courier to collect my buyout winnings, the 2.1 Million listing had already sold (literally like 2 minutes).

So there you go - that's my AH method of insanity. Works flawlessly for me every. single. time.

Following this paradigm will also prevent you from accidentally listing an item for too low a price (-cough- @OP -cough). :)

Which you can't even browse well right now since the sort buttons are non-existent >_>'. Definitely sucks.
