Rank 20 Experiment?

I've gotten aggravated with alchemy too many times in the past, so I'm only just getting to 20 here today or tomorrow. That being said, is there any point in doing the Rank 20 Experiments?

The Wikia doesn't really reflect it as I'm fairly sure I don't need to experiment to unlock the Rare tasks (granted, I've never paid a lick of attention to whether I need to or not.)

I'm figuring the answer is no, but just wanted to get the beat from all the others that have beat me to the punch months ago XD.

Only if you want the nonsense that goes along with super unstable potions. More often than not, the effects can get you killed in battle. Only once have I gotten the explosive blast one that hit all the enemies around me for a HAMSTER ton of damage. And that is after using about a hundred or more of them.

There are three remaining potions recipes to unlock: Major Flask of Potency, Major Flask of Protection, and Major Unstable Potion.

I'm just doing the experiments as drops and invokes give me the necessary potions, when I don't need to be sending all the aqua regia to someone still levelling their alchemy.

I have 6 characters with alchemy level 20, but I've never done the level 20 experiments. The only reason, imo, to level up alchemy is to count as the 3rd level 20 profession and grant you a profession slot. Alchemy is the fastest to level and the least expensive (if you are running short of gold).

The last three Potions are REALLY nice once unlocked.
    Expensive, but nice.
So if you can afford to make them regularly (for instance if you have several Alchemist Toons working together) then, yeah, totally worth it.
If you don't think you'll be making and using them, then not.

The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.' Terry Pratchet The Thief Of Time

i've made dyes and sold them on the AH. i've also made a few of the major potion of potency. that's good stuff.

the distilled health pots are nice.

but... i haven't done any of this in great numbers.

Potency and Protection can be very nice but requires a lot of attention to maintain a decent stock particularly if you're also trying to keep a distilled stock too.

As has been said, Alchemy is an excellent extra prof.

Alchemy was my 3rd level 20 ( after Platesmithing and Tailoring) and it was the fastest to level up once I got to level 9 I planned to make AT LEAST 1 more group of potions than needed to level up to take care of failures and that helped a lot.
