What I don't get is why they don't just have Sgt. Knox cross his arms and glare at the server until it functions. That commanding stare has thrown how many poor, unprepared adventurers into a whirlwind of world-saving, now? "We have a problem in such-and-such a place. You are hereby charged to resolve any and all issues our entire army of seasoned soldiers have failed. Go now. Oh, and have some tattered rags to wear in your off hours. I'm not completely heartless."
He'd have it up and running in no time. Possibly to its own death. He's your Sergeant, use him! :P

Sorry, I fixed the story so it looks like I actually posted it, was a typo on my part earlier my bad! Have fun playing again guys, and no unfortunately I will not be creating another foundry and the brave gentlemen from the IT department did his job.
On a side note, I was slightly thinking IT guy's weapon of choice would have to be wielding keyboard like its a weapon? And on each 3rd hit you see additional keys flying off.
