What do you mean a message? Like someone types something in chat? Drag mouse over, highlight text, while text is highlighted, ctrl+c to copy. Then ctrl+v to paste where youd like.
You have to keep the mouse button held down with the text highlighted while you press CTRL+C, unfortunately, but you can indeed highlight text to copy it that way.
If you're trying to copy text from an in-game mail message, you'll have to click Reply on the message and then you'll be able to highlight and copy its contents the same way you can highlight and copy chat messages. You don't have to actually reply to the mail -- just press the button as if you were going to.
