Shadowmantle Pack - Price Discussion

Hopefully it won't cost more than $59.99 (US).

Just a simple suggestion: the cheaper it is, the more people will buy it. :)

Please chime in with your input.

Yeah i agree that they need to find a balance between price, profits, and appeal
make the pack $300 and you may get 5 people to buy it ($1500) and it will be SUPER unique
or make the pack $5 and get 300 people to buy it you'll get the same amount but will be a lot less unique
but if the prices are lower more people will buy it and you will more likely get far more profit.

    "Less is more"

(Obviously these numbers are skewed far from what they would actually be.)

I think the Feywild packs had good price points at $59.99 and $19.99. I doubt that they will deviate from that.

they will probably be similar to all the past packs that have been available.

Probably true but i would prefer $15 and $30. seems more reasonable IMO.

Paying 60$ for a free expansion is just dumb, for me at least.

the expansion is free. the related pack is not a requirement to access the new content. shadowmantle = free = module 2.

It depends on what they are offering I would love an actual horse type mount instead of the Fru-fru and fantastical mounts we have been getting lately. A nice cosmetic outfit that isn't so fancy pants would be nice as well.

I doubt they would do $15 for the starter packs since so far they have included an item that costs 2000 zen.

As far as clothing, I'd like to see stuff that is NOT so skin-tight. I like fancy shoulder pads, knee pads, and such.

This does seem to be the pattern that they're gonna follow. I'd also like to see some a la carte Shadowmantle stuff added to the Zen store.

I'm just waiting for the next pack.

While I find that the current model is fine. $19 for a starter pack (single character) and $59 for a knight pack (all characters in the account).I think that they will present a somewhat different format, since we already know that there will be a "Hunter Ranger Booster Pack".

    I'll buy them anyway.

What does buying a pack offer (besides the goodies) Does it offer extra content at all?

Depends on how you define "content". Is an exclusive mount, companion, fashion set, or variant of a race "content" by your definition? The Knight of the Feywild pack had those items...

If you limit your definition to new zones, quests, instances, and classes, then there is no charge for those.

They will probably make a special mount with the pack... Then a month later, they will add an armor to that mount, and sell it in the zen store... ^^

The horse is the main reason I bought the Guardian pack - kinda fits the RPG image I have for my characters and the setting.

If they made the rank 1 Black horse a rank 3 in a Shadowmantle pack, I would be all over that and **** the cost (but $59.99 please!)

Although Drow characters may enjoy a riding lizard? hint hint Cryptic!

Considering that Module 2 brings no new race they will have to add something new to match the content's value to past packages. Let's hope it's something awesome.

No it was confirmed last week and in another thread that they will announce a pack "in the very near future". So I guess we should know more by thursday, or maybe even after today's maintenance.

The guardian pack included no race and was $60.

I wish they'd add a fashion set for females that wasn't all long skirts, the Moon Elf Regalia comes close but **** is it too much to ask to get a good set of trousers?

if they had something like that in the Shadowmantle pack, i'd buy it up quick lol

Well considering that the previous packs had a theme to them, I would expect the Shadowmantle pack to take on either a undead or demonic theme to it.

For example you could get a Skeleton/Zombie/Ghost horse mount and a undead companion.

I don't think you want a zombie horse. They walk really slow and they chew on your brains when you fall asleep. It's a really bad investment.

If u check preview there is a new zombie horse mount near zen vendor and the other new mount is an odd machine that looks like a crab and will probably drop in lockboxes....i would really like to buy the leopard mount but since im pvp focused i will not buy a mount that is rank 3 and has 80% speed, makes no sense to me

BTW leopard is the fastest animal on the planet, why the hell did u make it slower than others cryptic, shame on you

The leopard is 110% speed, but there's an error in the tooltip.

And the cheetah is the fastest land mammal. Different kind of spotted cat.

Maybe, but do you really wanna ride on something that is half rotten? It will get you bottoms dirty and it's probably gonna stink too. :)

I usually buy packs because they have items that is ACCOUNT wide :) that is my personal draw to packs. Account Wide companion? sign me up. I'll shell out $60. that is why I bought all the large pack so far.

I agree, largely the best value.
