Anyone else notice a drastic increase in the amount of time it takes to load the game? For me, it's pretty drastic, at about 5 to 7 minutes per load, and this is occurring when loading the character select screen, entering the game, as well as EVERY TIME I attempt to test my Foundry changes. Every time. It seems every patch usually brings "slightly" longer load times, as well and the need to adjust my graphics down a little further, but this patch is ridiculous.
It's taking about a song and a half, for a highly scientific and non-arbitrary method of timing... ;-)
It won't be very many more patches before I see the loading screen and queue Echoes by Pink Floyd just to keep the loading time at less than a song....
from launcher to character screen it takes around 30 seconds at max or so for me.
Try to defrag your HDD that should help a bit with the loading.
Or maybe disable the auto update function not really sure if any kind of small patches are being applied at character screen like when a map is loading but it does connect to the servers to get your character information so maybe disabling the auto update function will help in some way(software is software sometimes things you think is unrelated can cause problems xD)
Also, another reason could be your PC is just HAMSTER.
Something is wrong with your PC, at my ancient set with 2 GB of ram only game does start normally, i didnt noticed any major change in loading time after last patch.
if a defrag doesn't fix it, it could be that your hard drive is about to fail. if you attempt to defrag and your computer blue screens, you definitely need to try to save any important files before the drive dies completely.
Its loading for me a bit longer since the event has started for 10 sec longer but its never been 5-7 mins must be ur PC like the other said no way it should take that long on a decent mashine...

Post your PC spec, then people may be able to assist. Also biggest single improvement you can make to an existing PC under 3 years old is the replacement of HDD for SSDD.
having worked in IT for a few years, it's not unusual for a user to blame other things for problems that exist within their own systems. the best thing to do is to find out what you're working with and go from there.
I did notice a slight increase in load times. For me that means a couple seconds, I have a SSD with good ram etc, before the patch I was loading in about 2 seconds, now its about 5. For me not a big deal, but it is slower.
Usually happens to me after every patch *shrug* I'm patient, though, unless it hangs completely, I just wait it out.

. . . . . I do not have any horrible load times. I have on-demand patching disabled in the launcher options, I'd suggest to do the same in case this is what you're seeing, is the game patching the instances as you load them. With it disabled, the launcher will patch the whole game in one session. The only time I see any significant wait is as Lew mentions, right after a patching the initial client load reallocates resources which can take up to a minute, usually less, for me. That's only the first load after a patch, after that it's all good.

Same, occurs only after a patch for me. I have to close out the program a few times it seems. Then it loads, and is fine till next patch.
