Waukeen Coin Items - Lacking

edited October 2013 in General Discussion (PC)
Since the Waukeen coin purse event has started I kept hoping more items would be added to the Waukeen merchant then weapon skins.

Now, I might have been OK with just the weapon skins if the coins or the weapon skins were not BoP. As things stand now, I have one character with 120 coin, another with 80, and a third with 40.

PS. I already have my weapons looking the way I want them to look. If I do get the skins, all they'll do is end up taking bank space.

I feel like the event was to lower profession item prices and add AD into the game. The transmutes don't look so great

Feeling your pain, but I am opposed to BoP on principle.

I don't see why sunite weapons which we farmed currency to buy are BoE, but waukeen weapons which we also have to farm currency to buy are BoP.

The weapons either needed to be BoE or there needed to be something else to spend coins on.

This is really annoying, I bought dagger on my CW for TR (I'm quite happy with savage skin on CW) and when I wanted to send it... poof! BoP.
Why are we allowed to buy theese if we can't do, literally, anything with them? Also well done on making some neck items untransmutable so my cloak will just take another inv slot

When you get lemons, make lemonade.

when I have salt, sugar, pepper and vinegar in unmarked containers (all look alike) which one should I choose for that lemonade? Or which one I should give to a person who wants some for their meat loafs?

It was another free event so we can't complain too much.......BUT......with that said..... IMO this event was really lacking. You could spend hours and hours farming purses and end up with almost nothing in return due to all the BOP HAMSTER sold at the vendor. I really thought they would add SOMETHING else to the vendor before the event ended so we could use up the ton of extra coins we ended up getting. A decent potion or something....anything. But it was all free so it is what it is (or was....since it is over).

I like the look of the swords, and wanted to get the orb for my CW, but only got up to 51 before I had to log...

    agree.

    BOP items = fail.

    common potions/crafting mats = fail

coins being useless unless you get the exact right amount = EPIC FAIL.

I like these events (anything to break up the boredom) please rethink those things for future events KKTHX!!

Indeed. These event items should have been BoE. There should have also been something for 1, 5, or 10 coins.

I too am stuck with a stack of coin's that serve no purpose other than to collect dust in my currency tab. It's too bad they don't just do away with the idea of ''new currency'' when they hold events like this. I'd much rather each event just drop an official ''event currency'' that can be used to purchase items at an ''event vendor''. I'd be happy as a clam if I could save up coins to purchase, for example the armored orc wolf (First CTA event) at an event vendor. They could stock it full of event past items and I actually wouldn't mind if the items were BOP, just as long as I could purchase old or future event items with one specific event currency. (Or, since that'll never happen, at least let us discard the coins as they are completely useless once you've acquired the weapon skin.)

Or, worse, get nothing but multiple pairs of pantaloons (all on one character), dragon eggs (useless if you're too poor to get epic assets), exactly too few coins to purchase a weapon skin, lots of potions, and metric tons of dyepacks (after you already bought 9 off the AH figuring you wouldn't get any due to rotten luck).

I ended up wasting study time on an exam weekend and got little more than frustration to show for it. I like free stuff as much as the next person, but it's more than annoying to make an event this short where all rewards are random and BoP. -.-

I ended up with a ton of pants that I just sold to the vendor for 94 coppers. I have no idea how many I had total, but one toon ended up with 6 pairs and 64k unrefined AD. What a waste. I was after the unrefined AD and opening purses was not working out too good because all I got was tons of junk potions and crappy green profession items.

Another problem with the coins is, that they only stack to 99.
So I have 2 stacks in my bag, one of 99 and one of 14.
Two spaces, taken up with stuff I cant use and cant get rid of.

Totally love the concept of a permanent event vendor.... best idea so far!! I missed getting the golden cloak and weapons for my alts (got over a million RAD and some other stuff instead) . It would be great having a single currency where we could buy all previous and current event items that are BoP. This would help out people who miss certain events due to travel schedules or those who have terrible luck with RNG.

Yeah...this event was a bit of a fail. It could have been improved a lot simply by making the pantaloons BoE - then people could have auctioned them off, instead of being stuck with multiple worthless items.

Ah, well...this was sort-of a free event so I'm not complaining too much - but it did cost time, which is a valuable commodity.
    Hoping for improvements...

I'd have been happy with BoE pantaloons so all my alts could have a set instead of 6 pairs ending up on the one guy I was trying to get coins on.

i only got stuck with one cape and one pair of pants. i did get a lot of dragon eggs and rAD tho. please limit your hate mail to one per customer. thanks. ;)

i will say, i didn't open that many chests. i opened way more strongboxes. and just a few purses.

i did get the gilded orb but am having reservations about it. it looks too pretty to be an object of destruction.

The currency system is just another way of showing the futility of the levelling process. Most items you can get with seals leveling up are not as good as items you can get in the auction house. Or the stats don't reflect what your character is actually trying to accomplish. By the time you get access to a list of items that is actually a list, vioila! you are now 60! Lion seals sitting in the bank? Too bad. Manticore seals go unused? Oh, well.

Solution? Make a variety of items with different stat structures for all levels of the seals and not just the top end. Give random chances for purple versions of the items. Or give us a way to upgrade our seals, or even make them parts of recipes. Just make them useful.
