Where does this egg drop? if you mean the quest with the professions pack you get at about 25th lvl, that does not guarantee an egg.
My first 5 toons got it, but they all went through either in beta or by mid July. Could be it got nerfed. I've got another 60 I need to send back there for the bag. I'll see if he gets it. Maybe it's just RNG.

Sounds like you got really lucky, or they've nerfed it since then. I've run about 25 different characters through that quest to get the bag. Only 2 of them got eggs from the quest rewarded prof pack.

I've never gotten a dragon egg from the Neverdeath pack, though I know it's theoretically possible. Best I've done is the occasional green dude.
I actually just finished this quest during the Profession event and invoked myself a Gambler's Fortune prior to opening the pack, and it popped me an artificer, which is better than I've gotten in a while. I think opening it with the Profession event active might be key to trying to tweak your drops.

It's just RNG. That pack will drop anything like any other profession pack. You might get a useless worker, or you might get a epic tool or even a dragon egg. It doesn't always drop a dragon egg. It's just a RNG profession pack.
PS. Artificer is one of the bad drops at this point. There are alooot of them floating around. It may rise in value, once they take the pack outta the lockboxes. But that artificer is one of the lowest valued workers you can get. BUUUT if your an artificer and needed one... GTZZ

On four of my alts I just got resources. Got a green crafter from the 5th.

Dude. I know.
I'm saying the artificer is the best I have personally gotten in a long time. That's not the same as saying it was a particularly good drop.
Well it sounded like you equated the profession event with getting good drops.

I guess the bolded part is key. Italicized is the part where it sounds like the artificer is a good drop.
What they should do is make a few craftable fashion items in the top tier
of each craft like alchemy has dyes. they should be BOE, make them look
like the craftable armors this way people can mix armors and fashion,
people are more likely to dye fashion items since they cant out level them
and the max level crafters can make a lot of ad selling them this may also
encourage people to transmog and dye actual armors as theyd want their
armor to match their fashion.
this will also sell more crafting bags since people will feel they can make
the ad back. also they should make a fashion item/dye tab to encourage
people to buy a more fashion and dyes.
for dungeon runners you can drop craftable recipes for epic fashion items
(fashion that looks like epic armor) to so the grinders have stuff to sell.

IMO, all the crafting professions should have some free-to-transmute items added to their task lists. This would revitalize the professions in a much-needed way. For instance, tailors could make capes (transmute items for neck pieces), and the other ones could make cool looking pieces for their respective armor types. Alchemy already has the dye kits, but perhaps a few dye bottles could be added to the mix there.

I would consider *any* asset drop from this pack a better drop than any resource but a dragon egg. ymmv
Since I've only gotten assets out of it a couple of times, I want to test a bit more if the event timing has a noticeable effect. Waiting certainly doesn't hurt anything.

Supposedly you can get purple assets. Hasn't happened to me. I am simply curious if it's more likely to pop an asset during Professions. It's still gonna be RNG, but sometimes it seems like there is RNG+ if certain other variables are true.
Ofc you can, like I said it's completely RNG. You can get purple tools/or a bunch of resdium.
The packs are a gamble just like the lockboxes. 9/10 times you are better off buying directly from AH the tool/asset. But go ahead and experiment, post results.
What they should do is make a few craftable fashion items in the top tier
of each craft like alchemy has dyes. they should be BOE, make them look
like the craftable armors this way people can mix armors and fashion,
It seems sometimes like they just don't think this way. For example, the dyes you mentioned they put at level 7 instead of anywhere near the "top tier". A couple sets of fashion gear at 20 for each prof would be great.
people are more likely to dye fashion items since they cant out level them
and the max level crafters can make a lot of ad selling them this may also

armor to match their fashion.
Agreed on the dying fashion items. I've stated elsewhere that I consider this a flaw with the current dye system. Before 60 I outlevel my gear every 20 minutes or so of playtime. No one wants to dye something that isn't going to last half an hour.
Not sure what you mean on dying "actual armor" to match fashion though. Since you can fight in fashion gear, the only time a player using fashion is going to see their "actual armor" is when they are upgrading. They only need to add two things to the fashion section to have it totally replace the other. One is the ability to equip gear without switching back and forth. The other is a toggle for us to show our weapon in fashion mode.
this will also sell more crafting bags since people will feel they can make
the ad back. also they should make a fashion item/dye tab to encourage
people to buy a more fashion and dyes.
More inventory space for fashion stuff (and mounts) is a commonly requested feature. Many players would love a special inventory tab for stuff like that. Even if they had to unlock it with AD or Zen. I'm hopeful they were only waiting till after the server merge for some sort of big inventory revamp. The bags being on sale now kind of fits that. (Putting them on sale before opening up new inventory options that reduce their usefulness.) But that is just a hope on my part. Would love to hear something official one way or another.
for dungeon runners you can drop craftable recipes for epic fashion items
(fashion that looks like epic armor) to so the grinders have stuff to sell.
This would be awesome. One of the biggest complaints about BOP was that people running dungeons didn't have stuff to sell. Imagine if they changed the DD chest. So that you could opt out of the regular BOP rewards to get a sellable fashion item. To be hones though, they could go a dozen different ways with this and I'd be very happy.
The biggest drawback to all of this is that they need to make the fashion items. And they need to make good ones. There is only one piece of pure fashion gear that I like enough to wear on my mains in this game. And its currently broke anyway. With the relatively slow pace (compared to mounts & companions) that they are adding fashion sets, I'm not sure if they could pull off any of this well. They'd need many different sets, with a wide range of appeal.
This was obvious when they first made the stuff bound. Past time to jump ship and go to better game. Leadership can expect to be nerfed till it puts out even less AD.
This will be happening. Ad farmers use massive amounts of accounts to farm AD right now.
Its just a cash grab to force people to buy more zen to convert to AD.
I started to play SWTOR again. The cash shop in there is in no way as much as this games. I even bought cartel money. I got so much more then what i would of gotten in that game then this one. I cant wait for dec PVP spaceship battles
The cash shop in there is in no way as much as this games. I even bought cartel money.
Are you seriously trying to compare the cash shop from a game that charges for hotbars, has escrow, and sells tickets to stuff like PvP... You're comparing that to this game's shop?
Are you seriously trying to compare the cash shop from a game that charges for hotbars, has escrow, and sells tickets to stuff like PvP... You're comparing that to this game's shop?
yep Like i said way cheaper. And i havnt had to buy tickets for pvp yet. So dont know what thats about. Its still way cheaper then the zen store. I have all the hotbars i never had to pay for that either I got four on my screen why would you need more then that?
yep Like i said way cheaper. And i havnt had to buy tickets for pvp yet. So dont know what thats about. Its still way cheaper then the zen store. I have all the hotbars i never had to pay for that either I got four on my screen why would you need more then that?
Because that game ins't like this one. Some classes have dozens of skills. They only upped it to that many free hotbars because of player outrage. The kind of outrage that makes your jibes at Neverwinter look like constructive feedback.
Tickets or passes in that game are for those that don't sub. You need to buy them if you run more than X amount of dungeons, battlegrounds, or space missions in a week. I forget the exact number, but its not that high. My kid hit the weekly max on space missions in a couple hours. Stuff like that (with no reasonable way to earn cash shop currency in game) makes it not worth it for any ftp gamer to make it their primary game. As opposed to something they just check out when bored.
Once you get up to 60 for a while and start looking at most of the game it becomes obvious everything is pointless.
And as posted by others I usually end up spending some real money to both support and buy into a f2p game.
With this one I am deliberately not giving them anything because they have in almost all of their designs put blatant and obvious forced buy in systems.
If Cryptic just wanted to make a mini wall street gamble game I am not sure why they picked the D&D franchise. They could of spent less money on something else that was more popular.
The game has illogical crafting with even less than most MMOs that is even useful.
Making actual money in the game with their sleight of hand AD trick instead of gold usage is a pretty massive slap in the face.
Gear progression is almost entirely nonexistent with about 90% of the drops intended to be used to play the AH game.
The severe grinds in place do not make any logical sense as the power/gear is not even warranted or needed in the highest tier dungeon.
Not to mention their queue system is totally broken and when you hit 60 you become less wealthy than if you stayed 59 because of the jump in price in kits and massive loss of potions and kits in pug dungeon groups.
Then of course if you look at AD gathering as dailies just insanely spike up in the time needed to invest it becomes obvious that it is actually better to stay 10 and do blacklake skirmish.
Truth is as soon as another mmo or even single player game catches my interest I am gone and I will not miss anything except for the one thing that makes the game awesome and that is the active combat system.
It is really too bad that they treat us so poorly with the lack of fixes and creating any type of balanced system and yet still want us to buy their mounts and other zen items.
Seriously if I wanted to game a market I would be day trading and sadly Neverwinter is a shining example of wall street trading and vegas casinos wrapped in a facade of an actual D&D title.
We have gone a long way down from innovative and fresh titles like EQ and UO.
Luckily some day not too far in the future we will have independent MMO development kits made by people who are actually free to be creative and true to the audience and not leashed by marketing teams.
I completely stopped leveling my professions when I learned of this, the only one worth it now to me even remotely is leadership now or alchemy and that's for the pots.
Actually it's worth it to level 3 professions to level 20, just so you can unlock all the slots, so you can farm Leadership
Aye, that's primarily what I've done. Since other crafts level up so much faster than Leadership I just got one bunch of alc crafters and passed them around each of my alts. When one capped at 20, send them to my next toon, and so on.
Roo. Cleric. Mad as a bag of badgers, will heal for beer.
I actually enjoy the crafting system, but I would like to see some more useful top level items be craftable. You can level any profession other that leadership fairly quickly. Any low-level craftsman can earn more AD than a level 20 leadership. You just have to know what you're doing. Of course, if everybody tries to do that, it won't be profitable for anyone.

Not found anything worth making except from Leadership.
With alchemy, its easier to kill mobs and get gold to buy health pots than to make them. This has never sat well with me.
Profs as they stand don't really give much for time spent but it only becomes apparent after you've... spent time on it.
Cryptic's cash earning model seems to be unfriendly towards crafting/crafters. Shame really.
