Right now the Alchemy profession seems to have very limited use beyond dyes and supporting the leveling of other
Alchemists. The rare profession transmuting is certainly an outlet, but the use for potions beyond tier 1 (and again, this is just supporting Alchemy levelers) is virtually nil. I'm grateful for the Potency & Protection potions for personal use, but their material requirements are so high as to make them too pricey to sell.
The support potions drop so readily from mobs and invocations, that I have have never found a need to support lower level characters with potions at any tier in spite of the fact that I guzzle them regularly. Now that PCs can craft Tidespans, Reflex Potions, etc., perhaps the drop rates for these could be stymied a touch to improve Alchemy usefulness? It isn't as though they are a necessity for leveling in the first place.
Note that I'm just referring to the support potions. Healing potions are another matter entirely, as they are fairly essential.
I"m not exactly sure what you're referring to, but I know that the lower level buff pots that are required mats for lower alchemy ranks are so hard to come by that they sale on dragon AH for about 1500 AD for a single potion. Ever since they introduced Alchemy, I have seen the drop rate of the lowbie buff pots drop to almost nil already. I have even attempted to farm these pots with chars of multiple levels and I end up covered in healing pots, but not a single buff pot.

Yeah, lesser and minor potions are a rarity from drops. The only way to amass them in any quantity is to invoke a lot on characters not gaining XP from anything else, and thus staying in the level window to receive them for the max possible time.
You do get quite a lot of the greater and major potions, though right now I'm admittedly appreciating being able to level alchemy on all the troops while only having to concern myself with making batches and batches and batches of minor and lesser potions... and aquas... and churning out the vitriols necessary to do that....
While additional incentive to use alchemy might be nice, I don't know if making it grindier is the best solution.
Most ppl just do not use them and sell them because buffs that potions give is really less. I see it in most random parties that I join it is just rare someone to use any buff potion. After you can sell greater potion for 200-600 x 5 ~= 1000-2000 AD (Beholder server) why someone to use them after he can just sell them for price that is like reward from one daily ???

Buff potions are not balanced well.
