Ruined Tunnels - Bugged visuals.

When I was in the "Ruined Tunnels" today hunting Honor, I had a very hard time seeing anything in there. My char would fade out, the bad guys would show as only red circles on the ground, and in many places the whole background would turn one solid color, making it very tough to find my way around.

It seemed to clear up when I got close to a area, but then fade again once I moved on.

I don't know if this is just in the ruined tunnels, as this is a new char, but she's heading to Blacklack and I'd hate for this bug to be more wide spread.

Thanks for any help with this.

I've also encountered this issue in the Nasher Headquarters, but Blacklake leading up to it was ok. I don't recall any visual glitches in other main questline stuff pre-Black Dagger, and that's currently as far as I've gone with new characters.

I can imagine how difficult this makes progression for actual new players, as at least I have memory to draw on the fill in the blanks.

I always thought the lower lvl areas and the whole of questing pre lvl 60 were pretty good, I lvl'd 6 level 60's 2 or 3 months ago, and never saw any problems with graphics or lag at all while questing only maybe the very odd spike of lag in PE.

Anyways out of sheer boredom I rolled a new toon 3 days ago, had no problems at all during the pre level 4 tutorial, all was as it was months ago. Had problems near enough straight away with the 2 small instance quests from Sgt Knoxx, Character going randomly invisible, invisible mobs and terrain just vanishing and leaving grey areas, I could not see any mobs to kill as well as my own character, I had to scan around the areas with my target reticule until I found mobs, and then only their HP bars showed up. anyways I got through that area using mainly memory from doing it many times previously months ago. But was pretty disappointed and did think at the time how near impossible it must be for new players.
then I moved on into the Blacklake quest zone , all seemed good until I got into the solo instances and it started again, invisible character, invisible mobs , terrain disappearing, really bad, happened in all the instances in blacklake, and I know for a fact it is NOT my graphics or my PC, I run a high end system and build custom gaming PC's for a living just FYI.

I got up to the clock tower district before I finally gave up, the game is seriously broken near enough everywhere, it was never anything like this 2 months ago. all solo instances in tower district have major issues, Plague tower was the worst I have seen up to now, character and mobs randomly going invisible, terrain vanishing, cut scenes starting even though you have mobs beating on you, sometimes can not skip cut scene and end up dead when its finished, and last boss fight Razzard was crazy. just as about to kill him 3 times in a row, game froze and crashed, took me 6 total runs to actually get through it but still had allot of issues with disappearing mobs and lag during the fight and when I killed him , cut scene started straight away even though I had half a dozen mobs beating on me, could not skip cut scene, ended up dead.

The game is seriously broken all over the place, these lower questing areas never had any issues at all, what as happened to the game ??? these area's are the first zones new players see, and tbh I don’t know how some of them actually get through them the issues are so bad. I got to the end of Plague tower killed Razzard and gave up , deleted my new character, just can not play a game with so many issues and it was certainly NOT fun

This can't be happening to all players consistently as I did a flawless run-through of Spellburst/Plague Tower a few nights ago with my husband who has just recently started playing for the first time. And, as above, I *have* experienced some of the graphical issues in a few places, more as described by the OP though, where moving around the map brings things in and out of focus.

I have a fairly recent gaming rig. My husband is playing on a laptop that is capable of running the game, just. It's his first time through, and he's mostly playing by himself without guidance from me, and hasn't had these problems or he'd probably have gotten outright stuck at some point.

I just wanted to note that while these are awful bugs, they're not happening all the time, and I wonder if they're more common the better your textures should be able to render, etc.

I can agree the issues are pobably not happening to everyone, but there is no doubt they ARE happening, and alot of posts comfirming these are from players who have already completed the area's on many characters in the past without any issues at all, and using the same systems and settings, all do comfirm this and state they never had any problems in the past but now recently, past month or so, things have without doubt got alot worse and 9 times out of 10 they are most noticable after a patch, and we all know patches break more than they fix, that is fact.
My point was that these issues are happening and are very promenant now in low lvl area's which are the first 'real' parts of the game that new players see. Most new players to a game pretty much decide in the first few hours or so of playing wether they like the game or not to coninue to play, Most forum posts concerning in game issues are mainly concerning post lvl 60 zones and content and most dont know these issues are now starting to be more promenent in lower lvl zones also,
My point, it just does not make the game look good and i'm sure the issues have put off playing quite a number of new players to the game. i know the game realy well, can nearly lvl up with my eye's closed now, but when confrunted by realy bad issues like these even i gave up, its bad enough having to cope with numerous issues at lvl 60 without having to see them also afecting the lving zones too. i just dont understand more than anything how these issues can 'appear' randomly and recently when previously all lvling zones were pretty good and issue free

I can pretty confidently say and nearly all the 'old' players i talk to and players in my guild, friends list will agree, the game was more 'playable' more fun, had a ton less bugs and issues had alot more things, gear, enchants etc etc that actualy worked in 'open beta' than it does now, which is sad months and months after being so called 'live'

Seriously these days the main battle in the game is not game mechanics or puzzles its all about working around things that are bugged or dont work as they should or did previously..

even basic things like picking your character Feats has to be based around what actualy is working as it should do and not what you actually would like to pick..

Yes not everyone, but the sheer amount of other threads and posts with players commenting on basically the very same issues way out numbers the amount who post and say nothing is wrong, added to this the huge amount of people posting in bug reports that can not even log into the game to start with due to log in issues that seem to get fixed one minute then appear again the next.
I agree with previous post 99% of in game issues have nothing at all to do with the system or 'rig' players are using, most issues are totaly random and without explanation, wether there are alot online or not, peak or non peak times and i can agree most do happen after a new patch
