it feels a little unbalanced (i come from guild wars 2 where pvp is considered unbalanced but in comparison it is perfect).
an easy fix would be to separate arena for premade teams and pugs, so to improve the chance of victory of pugs and the challenge for teams (gw2 took almost a year to figure it out).
and, but this is my personal taste biased by previous experience, gear shouldn't matter at all in pvp every player should have the possibility to gear up and change build just for pvp outside of pve for free and have fancy cosmetics paying with glory. otherwise it is unfair from the very beginning
This just isn't compatible with a F2P system. Why spend money on the game if you recieve no benefit from the gear? PvE is so easily completed there is no need whatsoever to spend money to be viable in PvE. The biggest spenders are those that don't want to do PvE but want to remain competitive in PvP. I see nothing wrong with that as I get to play continuously for free b/c of their investment (also I do just fine in PvP without dropping hundreds of dollars on R10's and Tene's)

Agreed. The only real investment of time and energy in this game is in gear. Reaching rank cap is simple and easy, even getting a full T2 set is easy by comparison (from the perspective of a GWF, the worst class to try and get in a PUG with). The only real work you have to do is building up the AD to buy enchantments and attachments.
While there is a MLG mindset of 'everybodies equal except the skill', this would really not even work in this game. Level everyone's equipment, and then you realize that the classes are built to synergize with each other, not solo, and as such are almost impossible to balance 1v1. As they should be, in DnD.
Thus many like myself suggest the various queue options to allow players to play in their league, so to speak, without trying to make a big deal about player skill (hard to quantify) and gear score (not equal between classes).
