This is an event aimed at people who enjoy shinies. If you're not interested in fashion or silly things, please move on.

I want a pig mount with a pig companion and full sunite gear for the lulz. It'll look great on my Half-Orc DC.

The pig companion is probably the only thing I'd be interested in...well, maybe the clothes. But only because I tend to collect stuff. It's what keeps me logging in/motivated to keep making AD, most of the time, really. :P

I'm not seeing much of anything interesting that would be all that useful, if that's what the question is.

I logged in, hit N, hired a Sunite Apprentice, waited five seconds, clicked to see what the Apprentice could make -- answer, nothing -- done with event.

Are you hiding tasks for which you don't meet the requirements? All her crafting materials are special and earned by participating in the festival.

since i do not have to much time to grind 2 stuff XD due to work and family life, lol then i will just focus in sharandar, there is nothing worth it in the summer festival, but well if you like to collect stuff i encourage people to play it :)
Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...

The mount could be desirable if it were not 50% ...

I ability to get clothes without paying $15+ is nice. I would like to the pig companion also. However, without a tab for mounts, the boar and pig mounts are very disappointing since they aren't even at least 80%. Just take up space or you could replace your 50% horse, but thats about it.

The way it appeared to play out in preview, there were two dailies. The first involved simply talking to the NPC, and the second involved playing the games a little. Rewards were given for each, such that you'd be able to do some of the Midsummer crafting and/or afford to buy some of the items even if all you did was the check-in daily. Players who choose to grind the events can acquire their loot faster, or obtain more of it. Contests in this area award even more of the crafting materials, and petal currency.

So while you can opt to put a lot of time into it, you can still enjoy some of the stuff even if you just take about the same amount of time as logging in to invoke.

I'm more disappointed in the fact that the Leprechaun companion looks rather lame. Adds to gold find? Who the heck needs more gold (after a point), especially vs. a better companion buff or skill?

I might still get one at some point just to collect because he's still rather cute, but I'm in no hurry.

Would've been better if it was a cow companion that squirted milk at foes or rammed them(bulls) and healed you with milk.:)

I'd like to know the same thing. If it's cute enough I might get it sooner, but haven't seen anyone with one yet to see. I haven't been in the game much today however. I'm sure I'll come across a player with one before too long. :)

Nope, all of the other crafters gather their own mats. I guess this one doesn't.

Okay, sounds like something else I won't be logging on to do. I can't believe with so many bugs and fixes, they put something like this out with some lame cosmetics and 50% mounts.

You get the mats from the various things around the festival grounds. Troll hunting contest, chicken/pig/corn herding, flower collecting.

Looks like the craft only goes up to level 3. It lets you make fireworks, temporary and permanent versions of the costume (pants and head; the chest is on the petal vendor) and a couple other things. Plus some "level up" tasks like with Alchemy.

Doesn't sound like anything too interesting, then, unless the earnable companion is at least Green/Blue. And even theeeen...

Permanent clothes beyond the hobo-outfit that you don't have to cash-shop to get is also good. I think it should definately be an uncommon thing, but it sets a good precedent. Maybe the next one can be from more persistent content, though.

Try the Preview forums. You may have to search back till before the patch was released though, unless they have been bumped. The costumes are quite nice.

Have a look at some of the Sunite vendors around the grounds, they are wearing the costume.
Pretty good to be able to get free fashion items considering others are very expensive.

Also relatively easy to get the Pig and Armored Boar mount. Guess PWE will make money if people upgrade them to Rank 2 or 3.

Bought with Favor of Sune which is free from the main quest giver collectable every 12 hours. Given that this event is over 20 days should easily be able to 20 and up to 40.

Also the Sunite weapons that can be used for transformation are on the Notice board behind the vendor. The shield looks the best, a giant flower. Also relatively affordable, will be skinning my symbol with the Sunite version.

Are the weapons a legit transform (like the Fool's Crown), or a Transmute item (like the Savage weapon skins from the Call to Arms event)?

This will greatly affect my general level of interest.

I think it's one of the better events I've seen in an mmo. I like the way they tied in the crafting system for it. I'm only after the clothes, tired of the peasent ones I have.

You can make one piece of gear look like another while still retaining its stats/powers.

You need both original piece and piece you want to transmute in your Inventory.

From Inventory screen right-click original item and choose Change Appearance. In the screen select the second piece. There will be an AD cost to transform. When complete you will have new item with old item stats and new item look.

This is also how you do dyes.

The Sunite stuff looks pretty good.
