I bought some ZEN so I can add a few more char slots. I was gonna convert the left over ZEN into AD for use in other areas. However, I can't find any place to swap my ZEN for AD. I thought maybe the bank, or the ZEN store, or the AD store, but none of them will change ZEN into AD. What am I missing?

I also opened my first lockbox and got this idol to swap with Rix (SP?) for a rod that should lead me to AD in PA. However, I've walked the whole area it seems like and have yet to find a purple glowy area like it says I should look for. Does this work?

I'm starting to think that stacking of items is bugged in this game. I can sell one of an item for a set price, say 5 CP for a Lucky Tooth or I can sell 10 for the same item and still only get 5 cp's, that seems odd to me. Is there a way to break down stacks? I was using that stone you get to protect your fusing of gems and failed a fuse. My stone was used up, no big worry, I had two of em. Went to use the 2nd stone and it was gone too! So what's the point of buying a 10 stack of these stones if one fail uses all 10 of em up? Anyone else notice this oddness of stacking? Is it bugged, or just the way it is?

Thanks for any and all answers folks! Ya all have a great day!

The exchange is an interface button at the top of your screen, looks like a Z/diamond. Make a listing. Another player has to buy your Zen for you to receive any diamonds.

The resonators aren't intuitive. I walked around with one forever before it occurred to me to try using the item (double-click in inventory). Then I got floating text telling me where to go and what to do. I should have submitted a bug report about that (as a developer suggestion more than a bug).

Break down stacks with shift+click (split in half) or ctrl+click (choose number to separate). I've never thought to look at the gain from selling stacks of low-value items, but I'll have to test it. Display price shows the value of one unit, but I always thought my money was shown increasing based on the entire stack. I'm too much of a pack-rat to have sold much that can be stacked other than "treasure" class items.

Regarding the wards, I am not sure how they were both consumed on you, but the entire stack will be loaded into your fuse interface until used up, so you don't have to keep placing them. Note that they aren't worth using until you get into the higher rank runes and enchants (usually around 5to6 or 6to7), as the ward may actually cost more than a replacement enchantment, depending on auction house pricing. It's always wise to check. I have done plenty of fusing, and my preservation wards are consumed one at a time.

I just logged in and sold a stack of 70 portable altars, 10 coppers apiece. My wealth increased by 7 silvers, as it should have.

Thanks Becky, I will keep a closer eye on sells of stacked items. I might have been fooled by the unit price and not the real gold added to my purse.

So to swap ZEN for AD's I have to sell to another player? Ouch.... I really have no clue how that auction thing works. Everytime I look in there all I see is a bunch of stuff like "Bags of Holes" for sell for some over the top price. Ah well, such is life.

I'll give the double-click a try on the resonator Becky, thanks for the tip. And on how to break down stacks. You would think it would be on the right-click listing. *shrug*

You wont sell to another player directly. Its an exchange system. Click the 3rd icon from the left on your top tool bar to open the exchange interface.

You'll see a listing of offers people are making, either to buy Zen or to sell it. Simply list yours within the value of the current market range for a quick exchange. Or you can pick price out of the current range in the hopes of speculating that the market will adjust to it. You could make more on the exchange, but it wont sell nearly as far, if it sells at all.

Sometimes its best to watch the market and how its trending if you want the most bang for your AD or Zen.

my general rule of thumb if im selling zen I go to the BUY tab and look at the higest price being offered ad sell for one higher.
do the reverse for selling AD, this typically gets me the best price though I often have to wait a few moments.

bag of holes are a 1 slot bag...but since they have a hole in them the item falls right back into your inventory they sell on ah for 10k but are really worthless.

generally the AH is overpriced if the item is buyable with zen people who are good with exchange buy the items with zen then sell them on auction for a 30% profit. and people who are scared of exchange have no choice but to comply unless there are multiple people driving price down.
I always take AH price divide by the average exchange rate( lowest sell price+highest buy price/2 )
to see what the rate would be in zen reverse the process for a zen-ad coversion.

Sadly I have no experience in the stock market, so this whole Auction House is just a large bag of confusion to me. I'll try to work it out, but it sounds way more twisted then I feel like getting into.

Becky: That using of the resonator worked just fine! Thanks for that. However the shift-click and ctrl-click to split stacks didn't. Not sure what I did wrong, but I'll keep trying.

Oh, sorry. My explanation was incomplete. After clicking, drag to an open inventory space. Then the stack should either split or you'll get the interface asking how many you want to separate out.

You're confusing the auction house (sell items to other players for ADs) and the Zen/Astral Diamond exchange (converting currencies). The exchange does operate like a stock market, but you can treat it very simplistically just by looking at the current price and posting your own offer at the same rate. You don't have to try to get clever with it if that makes you uncomfortable.

My husband and I are playing on the same shard but we cannot see each other in game. Can someone help me with this as we like to work together. Thanks! Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong area but I'm new to this.

You are both more than likely in different 'instances'. all zones are slpit into 'sub' instances, originaly to 'spread' the population load and to help with gathering quests etc etc.

I asume you can group together, if you do this you will see a small number at the right of each others character names on the character frames in the top left corner. Both numbers need to be the same, so you are both in the same 'instance'

You can do this by 2 ways, easiest is to click the other party mebers name and a list of options will pop up, one option is 'join instance' click this and you will be ported to same instance.
Other way is take note of which instance number your partner is on and prees 'M' to open map, bottom left corner is imstance buton, click it brings up a list of all the instance for that zone, and a number for them, clicking any will teleport you to that one. also if your not in a group doing this will show which instance you are in too, it will be slightly highlighted
