With the release of two new races, I know many people(including myself) would LOVE the option of changing the race of our fully geared 60 character instead of rerolling and having to grind all the way back up.
I want to know how many people would like this option. I know some people hate the idea of race change in DnD lore or whatever but I believe this would be fun.:)
They could even make it like companion upgrades 750k+ ad to change race. Or 2000 zen. Opinions? Thoughts?

Nice idea but they will never do it or even think about it. obviously it is in more interest to them to have players buy more character slots and lvl a whole new character
Plus they can count your new character as another 'unique' player too LOL

Aw, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have voted "no". I was answering the question of whether or not I'd buy it.
I'm fine with something like this implemented for other players. I'd just never use it myself.
Yes. I would purchase them and rename tokens for each as well. 2,000 zen seems fine to me.
I would hope with it that you could chose gender, race, and re-roll stats. But just changing race would be enough.
Call it a Scroll of Reincarnation.

I would not buy a race change token....but I would buy a token that would allow me to re-roll my initial stats - in hindsight I realized that I made a mistake there with my first (main) char.
Hoping for improvements...

I voted "no" in answer to the second question (whether I would use it) and to indicate that such a feature wouldn't in any way be a draw for me. However, I want to qualify that by saying I have no actual objection to such a feature if others want it and want to pay for it. Just nothing I would ever consider using.
Perhaps there needs to be a 3rd option on the poll -- "Wouldn't use but don't oppose" or some such?

Can't you edit the poll? Pls add a third option because these options are too vague.
Or can a mod make a new thread with updated options and merge the two threads?

OK, I've added a 3rd option and changed the numbers by 2 to reflect my own and beckylunatic's posts indicating that view.
I don't even see why race change tokens have to be a lore issue.
first and foremost, especially if one gets a rename token too (maybe bundle the two together?), it doesn't even have to be the same character as it was before changing race. The potentially sticky point comes if one wants it to be the same character, leading to the next couple points.
for some people, they may have rolled a character as one race, but have intended and roleplayed it as another one from the start, only because the desired race was not available before.
and thirdly, it really isn't entirely against lore to change race. Granted, it's extraordinarily rare, like rare enough that chances are, almost nobody would likely ever know someone who has ever done it or even heard of it happening outside of legends or potential famous examples. I admit, I'm not as familiar with 4e as with prior editions, so maybe something changed there, but there were situations in the basic rulesets that covered things like this. mostly, it involved wishes and miracles, almost the most powerful individual situations in the entire game, short of actual gods in their home planes.
edit- OH! I almost forgot, there was a druid spell that also could be used for changing races: Reincarnation.

I said yes but I will never pay for it even if they do introduce it they have lost all future funding from me.

Well what about if it was purchasable using in game ad?

Why would anyone say no? For what reason is there to vote no? No one is making you use the token, or pay for it. If players wish to edit their race choice down the line they certainly should be able to. Makes no sense why Crypic would not do this already. Give the players the option and make them pay for the feature. 1,000 zen to switch races and customize the new races looks seems quite fair to me. Would be stupid of the devs to not add this, and I am surprised they still have yet to add it (kind of surprised).

So because you do not like the idea of other people changing races you would not buy anything else in the future? That is the most asinine thing I have ever heard. No one is making you use the race change, no need to cry about what other players want to do. No problem though, the amount that Cryptic earns will be much more from the race change tokens than you will provide them with your "funding".

Even if it was Zen only, you can buy Zen with AD, so it would be available that way.
I wouldn't be opposed to this idea, particularly if a new race was released that was really interesting for one of my main characters. I would hate to see a situation where I would want to rebuild a character simply to change it's race, because that means giving up all the gear and companions I already have in place.
I would suggest, instead of race, that it be a way to rebuild your character from the ground up. Race, base stats, name, even the look of your character, so you can make those changes and not give up earned items.
That, or give us an account wide bank and make character bound items like worn gear account bound instead!

That particular post wasn't about other people using race changes. The poster was stating that they intended to buy no Zen ever again as a result of other issues they had dating back to the time this thread was originally created.
And *that* is one hazard of necros. You lose the context.
Of course, I never really expected to be playing the game for as long as I have and I would if I could optimise that little bit better with a race change because my first character is still my main one and I didn't put too much thought into it at the start (although things worked out surprisingly well all things considered but I reckon I could get another point in cha for free this way) and I'm just not going through the hassle of getting formorian weapons, leveling, chain grinding spellplague etc for my t2 sets for such a marginal difference. Absolutely would spend on it though.
People with Drow clerics would be all over this like white on rice...

I voted yes, though I don't know if I would ever use it. But I have no specific reason for which I would not use it, so I 'would' use it.
I would suggest a 'Super Respec' token, more expensive than the one they have now, that allows a start from scratch, but keep bound items, pets, and levels (class might complicate that, so maybe not class.) This would negate any idea that they would rather sell the char slots which would be cheaper than the 'Super Respec.'
As far as people intentionally arguing against this being available for anyone.. really? Maybe you should consider minding your own business, that is, limiting your votes to things that actually impact you. If I go from half-orc to full blooded sea anemone it should and would make no difference to you. Go back to being unaware of my existence, thank you. I really do not mean to insult you or anything, I just don't understand that way of thinking (but it can impact me, so I have an opinion on it.)
All just my opinion.

Better late than never I hope, but YES - people should be able to change the race of their character by some means... and a token from the ZEN store if no other way...
Particularly since some guilds are now appearing to be not only class specific - but race specific as well.

It's a problem in every Cryptic game with multiple races and it's 2014, it's time for these features to be updated and available in their stores.
