Repeatable Quests - Exploitable

Encountered this bug/exploit adventuring with a buddy of mine in the Graveyard area.

He was further along with me, so he shared the later quests. Of course, I tried sharing my quests - and found out I could do this.

He did the quests twice. Then, when I got to my end quests, I found I was able to share the end-game quests. I can't put my finger on specifics because we weren't intending to break the system, we were just trying to adventure with each other, but we discovered that we could do this in perpetua. We could hypothetically keep doing this forever, reaping ridiculous experience in a relatively short amount of time.

I am sure this is not as intended.

Hi. This is not necessarily a glitch and not new. The ability to share already completed quests has been around for a while, and enables friends and groups to party together and quest together even if one or more of them have already completed the quest. And yes, this could be exploited, but I have also heard of more than one person being banned for exploiting this feature.

Another important point which u may not notice, is the second time you complete a particular quest, the XP is significantly reduced.

Yes, it can be exploited, but it's nice to be able to share old quests because you can pick up lore that you missed the first time (if you're an obsessive completionist like me). I'm happy that it's not limited.

Be careful as you may get banned for sharing quests. Something that cryptic themselves have implemented into the game, but then tell us that it is exploiting.

You won't receive special rewards twice for sharing quests (like the profession pack or inventory bag).

I thought it was a bug at first, too, because I got confused at my quest list after my party-mate and I parted ways, it seems I had to redo all of the instances we both have completed in order to 'move on'. but then I realized this is the loophole people were talking about during beta, so I made sure to group only when necessary.

obviously the option of "sharing" quests was intended because the button is right there in your journal. but repeatable quests that you are limited to complete every 24 hours (or resets at 3AM PST) definitely grants an unfair advantage to others and i'm sure is not what was intended. when i've helped others level up, quest sharing makes it easy so everyone knows what the objective is. but not all of those quests are sharable. some special quests that require found items, from what i've seen in-game, can not be shared. if there is some way around that, then it is an exploit and must be corrected.

Daily quests can't be shared anyway IIRC; I think I recall trying to share a daily dungeon once by mistake (clicked the wrong journal entry and didn't pay attention to text before hitting the button) and the system didn't allow it. Unless I'm thinking of a racial quest, but I think I've done that with a daily before as well....

At any rate, the gold and EXP rewards are reduced when you complete a shared quest after having done it once already, so it's not really game-breaking.

Race and class quests can be shared, per a guy who was complaining that he and his (different race and class) friend weren't getting all the same quests and had to share them to keep their levels even, except they stopped getting the quests at the same time, and could somebody please fix that bug. :p
