I just read on the forums that you have to pay AD to access the new areas and dailies? Is this true and if so how much? I only have a little over 100k ad and just don't have the time to play as much as I'd like. I plan on getting the xpansion but just can't afford it atm, probably within the month but in the meantime I'm pretty bummed I won't get to play in the new area. Considering how they said the modules are free it just doesn't feel that way to me if this is indeed the case. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You don't have to pay any Astral Diamonds up front. As the Campaign progresses, however, you have to pay Astral Diamonds for some of the features later on. However, you do get full access to the zones beyond that. You can find out more by viewing the Campaign window, which lets you preview what tasks down the line require from you.

You get full access to the Campaign window once you do the introductory quest series for the zone itself.

FWIW, so far on Day 2 I haven't spent a single AD.

Nope, no need to pay alot of AD... just have to be patient cause you can't progress fast and have to wait for daily quests to do so (16h timers)... that's another stupid idea... but hey, Cryptic clearly shown they don't care what we think...

Actually to progress you have to pay about 5k AD in the Campaign tab. But that's not too bad.

Well, it just launched, so I'm not exactly sure how it's all going to play out, but the daily yesterday didn't cost me anything other than I missed out on the free key I should have gotten for the final solo dungeon instance (make sure you find and talk to the leprechaun first!). The final chest in that instance won't open without the key, and additional keys do have a currency cost. You only get one free key per set of dailies.

Some of the bigger unlocks might have a higher cost, but you'll only need to unlock them once, and possibly with not much more than you'd be grinding out while working through the time delay part of the content.

Timers for dailies now reset at 3am PST regardless of when you accepted the daily, so the time to accept again is however far off you are from the fixed reset, not an interval.

They've time-locked it out like this so that players won't blow through the entire module in a weekend and then whine about how there's no endgame (again). Or at least to stave off that eventuality.

Well yesterday I ran all the missions I could in that area and to enter the first dungeon you have to buy a key and it costs 5K AD to be able to use the key to enter the dungeon.

Adding into this, the Campaign Window also has a 'preview' button so you can see what kind of rewards you can get from the end chest in each of those mini-dungeons to see if it's worth spending it on. Under the Zone Rewards panel, it's the Reward Locations - each location will highlight the 'special' rewards from the end-chest there. Note that these aren't GUARANTEES you will get those items, but that you CAN get those items from those chests.

Helps make that one key a day go a bit further if you know this in advance (seriously, hit up that leprechaun for that key).

It says in the quest dialogue from the Leprechaun, and afterwards in the dialogue options, that the first key per day is free of charge. Each additional key costs AD + golden crescents (that you can farm bounty items for if you really want). If you bought a key on your first day, you bought a spare one (might as well save it up, mate).

Submit a bug report, then. Best I can offer you, mate. I haven't spent a single AD since I've started the content, and I've run that particular dungeon twice and gotten end-chest loot from it.

You can see all the costs for yourself from the campaign tracker.

No the key is only to open the end chest. Its a departure from the DD system. If you just want to run the instance and fight the boss, go for it. If you want to farm chests, you need buy a key.

It seems a fairly simple fix to combat farming while still keeping solo dungeons available to any who wants to do them. Extra rewards come with extra costs.

And the game gives you the first key for free.

The problem appears to be that the leprechaun is easy to miss before entering the instance dungeon, and he doesn't offer you a freebie on your way out. I already submitted a bug report about this, since you should be able to get one free key per day regardless of whether you've killed the boss once already. It's just too easy to miss otherwise.

Since I've only gone through my first round of dailies, I haven't had an opportunity to try getting a free key from the leprechaun first, but it sounds like other have.

Are you talking about the key to unlock the chest at the end of the small dungeon in the first zone, or the Key to Malabog Castle (5 man elite dungeon), that you only have to get once?

Well, it's possible that you had a bugged quest, but more likely you missed something or didn't realize you got a free key. I've done it twice already and the leprechaun always has the free key available once you unlock his quest.

Except the key isn't to enter the dungeon and you get a free one daily...

Actually, the little dude gives you one key per day for that dungeon... The new dungeon (unlock on left branch) is like any dungeon when chests open during DD.

I definitely missed talking to the leprechaun before entering the cave. The area was incredibly crowded and I didn't see him. I did see him on the way out, but none of his dialogue options at that time allowed me to take a quest or get a free key, though they did reference the quest I missed out on.

So I had done the cave quest, but was unable to open the end chest prior to exiting the instance.

The same happened to me, I talked to him but didn't see any option for free key. And just the key I used was to open the chest at the end of the cave, so maybe that particular key to open the chest is the one that costs 5K AD

By the way to those doing the cave, there are that I found 3-4 side areas inside the cave where you get some extra drops.

I'm guessing you either didn't complete the three missions that grant you the key prior to going into the dungeon (you don't need the key to get in the cave, just to open boss chest) or you simply didn't click the leprechaun's prompt (Have a key!) after finishing the three pre-requisite missions. Go back to him and see if the prompt is available to you.

Are the three prerequisite missions the same ones you'd be doing for your dailies anyway? (Collect caps, kill spiders, plant seeds)

I did all that before being prompted to go into the cave, but missed the leprechaun.

"Have a key!" was not an option when I talked to him afterwards.

I believe the "Have a key" option opens after you complete the three quests and you then speak to the first guy that you talked to upon entering the Wyldwood Zone. He mentions the dungeon and boss specifically. After that convo, I went back to the leprechaun, and the Have a key option was available.

That sucks. It must reset if you open the chest with a bought key. Boo.

Yeah, the "Have a Key" thing should be obvious, if it's there. It's labeled as a Daily Quest, so it's in the leprechaun's dialogue options in blue, and he'll have the normal Daily Quest marker over his head.

I didn't even buy a key, just left the chest thinking I might be able to run the cave a second time. I think it must reset when you either kill the boss or leave the instance.

Like I said, I have submitted a bug report about this since I think you should be able to get one free key per day regardless of when you claim it, provided other requirements are met. It shouldn't reset until you've claimed your key.
