Drow cleric's Faerie Fire ability affecting friendlies

edited May 2014 in Bug Reports (PC)
When a drow cleric heals, they have a chance of affecting themselves and allies with their Faerie Fire ability, which decreases their Power and Defense by 6% for 4 seconds. That's supposed to be an offensive ability that affects enemies only. This seems include most types of healing, including attacking enemies marked with the Astral Seal.

Today is December 26, so 4 months later this bug still isn't fixed or addressed thereby making Drow cleric essentially unplayable as every heal has a chance to trigger a debuff (even on self) of Darkfire.

. . . . . Thanks for bringing this back up. I've confirmed with an in-game friend and myself (I have a menzo drow cleric) that this bug is indeed back again. I've escalated this to the Dev Team.

Ah, excellent, thank you very much. I'll hold off on rolling a Drow cleric until this is fixed.

I have a drow cleric that I really enjoy playing and not till recently it was brought to my attention that the racial bonus fairy fire where it decreases enemies defense when attack at a percentage chance applies to team mates. When I heal them I am actually decreasing my team mates defense instead or helping the party. This also seem to proc off every tick of the heal because it seems likes it's almost always applied to my party. Please fix this so I can play my devoted cleric because as of now I feel bad being the healer for the party because I am actually debuffing my own group.

Ops I thought I put it in on the bugs forums my bad. Yeah thanks for pushing it up to the dev's I love my cleric and I love the drow to use the prophet armor for additional debuff it's just a bummer it does it to my team mates.

so a post was created about two weeks ago about the drow cleric debuffing their own parties defense. I for the first time since the bug took my DC to CN and the debuff doesn't show on my parties characters. I wanted to thank the dev team as well as the forum moderators to bring this to their attention and getting the bug fixed extremely fast. Thanks for fixing my cleric!!!! keep up the good work

Aaand here I am again, another month passed. So should I just retire my drow cleric and reroll another race? Yes, drow darkfire still affects friends, self, companions etc. even on heals.

Yes you should this bug has been present way to long. I retired my drow cleric a long time ago just because of that and the dev's inability to fix bugs.. I can only hope that one day they will allow race changes so my cleric can be useful again.

. . . It is quite horrible to be debuffing your own party members. My main cleric is a Menzo Drow and this bug severely discourages me from playing her.

Yeah this bug has been present for 6 months coming now.. I think we are just trying to beat a dead horse with a stick about it. I agree very discouraging to play the character.. I picked drow especially to use with high prophet set and make a debuffing beast didn't think that beast would every turn against my own party though.. So sad :(

And months passed, the issue is still here, on top of that now I can have my Drow cleric look like a half melted Barbie doll with an overbite and wiggling eyebrows : /

So, how did that work out? I can see why people want race rerolls..

I'll refrain from TRULY snarky comments and simply ask, wasn't that the Menzobarrazan Renegade who does the -6% thing? The race that is ONLY accessible if you paid $199 for the Hero of the North pack? A dungeon-queue team I was in had a drow cleric show up and there was an immediate kick-vote with a reason of 'drow cleric'.

...it passed before I even got to ask "WTF?".

Yeah, I'm bringing this back up guys and gals. I am terribly sorry this has gone on for so long, hopefully we'll get some attention to this soon. My main cleric is also a Menzo Drow, so I understand and share everyone's plight on this.

Don't forget it's both Menzo and stock drow.

    Thank you so much, Zebular.

I wish I could play as a straight up healer, but instead I have to buff and debuff. A cleric that can't use Sunburst or a direct heal? It's terrible!

As far as I know, it's only affecting the Menzo because they are the only ones with Faerie Fire. The regular drow have Darkfire.

It's both. Darkfire procs from regular drow:

    drowclericdebuff.jpg

The ability might be slightly different and named differently, but the proc error is exactly the same. As you can see, both my CW and the DC himself have Darkfire procced on us in that screenshot.

    Update for the Developers:

This is affecting both drow races's abilities, Faerie Fire AND Darkfire when on a Devoted Cleric class. The special ability procs to the entire party instead of just the mobs, there-by de-buffing your own party! I am getting reports both on the forums and in-game of players vote-kicking when they see Drow Clerics in their party. This is not good at all.

Thank goodness... I see this is listed in the patch notes as fixed. Anybody able to confirm yet? I'm still patching but will check as soon as I can.
