I had a nightmare yesterday after watching The Conjuring at midnight. I don't want to go too much into detail, but let's just say it involved a little bit of 'exorcism'.
My question is, what is the first thought that pops into your head as soon as you wake up from a nightmare?
As soon as I woke up this morning, the first thought that popped into my head was, "Too much horror movies to last the day."

I don't realy get any scary, creapy nightmares, only the ones, that should have been scary, but but for some reason didn't get any reaction from me. The last "nightmare" I had involved two hands coming out of the wall and strangling me, when I woke up from it, I thought "well, that wasn't scary... I'm hungry!"
But then again, I'm an undead, so, it shouldn't be a surprise, since I'm imune to fear.

I tend to just try to forget the dream and go back to sleep. If I don't I tend to go all Sigmund Frued on myself and question why I had such a dream...and I wish I could pass it off as nothing more than watching too many horror films but that's not the case.
However I will stress examining and questioning dreams, especially the bad ones, is an eye opening experience. I had quite a number of repeated bad dreams which are burned into my memory from my younger years which were more or less a way of my subconscious pointing out the problems around me. It was an interesting experience if nothing else.
Your dream might have simply been due to The Conjuring but when there isn't a horror film to point to take a closer look at the dream and why it may have happened. Normally it's your subconscious telling you something your conscious is ignoring.
My very first thought is always along the lines of "Ahhh!"
My first coherent thought after that is probably picking apart why the nightmare didn't actually make sense. Logic calms me.
