Thanks for pinching my celestial coins again..

Claimed my 7/7 coin item like normal yet this time it used them up from all 3 toons.. Good One..

Any chance you maybe sneak in a fix for something like that or just the usual balance issues you seem obsessed with?

So there's no chance you didn't invoke in time on the 2 others and lost the 6 coins?

This could be it - that you just happened to cut it very, very close indeed on the first toon.

Also what is the functional purpose of the time limit? It seems like a useless aspect of this system that has been added for no reason other than to annoy the player and punish them for daring to take a break.

There are Celestial coins and Ardent coins. One rewards hardcore constant playing, and the other rewards overall play length.

Yep I log a min of 3/4 times a day to invoke an check profs, if I catch GG I will run it but that's it at the moment.
Its no big deal, probably just a one off bug, it happens enough in this game and ive heard others have it happen as well.

Was just a bit gutted as with the 3 toons its nice I kind of have a rotation so it only ever seems like a day or two without another celestial goodie;)

My point is that both play styles are valid, but are rewarded in ways that don't mesh, which is why both forms of reward are offered.

Except this isn't a reward for hardcore play so much as a punishment for not playing hardcore. People who play casual would build them up more slowly. Thats the only necessary limiting factor. To have them poof for not invoking constantly is mean spirited and frustrating. Its a feature that doesn't add anything to the game, but instead only introduces the possibility of annoying the player.

I have been keeping all of mine on a fixed schedule so they come up with 7 on the same day, because unfortunately my brain is very "ooh, did I or didn't I?" If I can look at the total and everyone has the same amount, I know they're all covered... or not, but at least then I can be relatively certain of specifically remembering the invoke on at least one of them.

I did get the timing on one of them off by a bit and when I logged in with her got a notification that my celestial coins were going to expire in approximately one second... basically just enough time to invoke and not lose them. I don't know if my timing there was extraordinary and I'd have been SOL if five minutes later, or if there's been a little grace added with that warning if you're cutting it close.

You do understand that ardent coins don't expire, right? Celestial coins do "poof" if you don't play every day, but you can only collect up to 7 regardless, and the reward items are priced accordingly. Ardent coins can be accumulated for bigger rewards, and while it will take longer if you don't obsessively get one every day, you'll still have whatever you've earned whenever you do get back into the game.

Yes I am well aware of it. That has no bearing on what I have said so far.

    So very wrong.

None of the options are NEEDED to play the game. They're a bonus to play for logging in for consecutive days. For it to be considered a punishment, it would have to unlock content like quests and areas.

Complaining about getting free stuff is rude. Complaining about getting free stuff on a thread intended to ask about/report a bug is worse.

The coins are just another way of doing veteran rewards on a game without a subscription. Its actually a rather simple and unobtrusive way to incentivize folks to both log on regularly and over a long duration. Hence the reason for two kind of coins and the reason for the timer.

Its a simple bonus, a minor reward for playing. They even had the forethought to keep the cap low and the rewards simple on the timed coins as a means to reduce the risk and loss. Had they only had one coin that could pile up without limit and vanish on a single missed day. That would be a punishing system. This system seems pretty fair and flexible.

Not losing mine. Just getting party poppers sometimes when I didn't click on them. Wrong thing.

I get this with their NPC shops all the time, anymore.

The GG merchant, the consumables merchant, and the Drake seals merchant have all given me the wrong items multiple times. It doesn't even matter if you're specifically careful.

I made sure and read the "Are you sure you want to buy the Wererat Thief?" prompt thrice, before clicking "Accept". It gave me a Drake helm.

I have 4 characters, and do all 4 of them at the same time starting form the top of my character list and going down. The other day when I did the praying thing my people showed 6/7, 6/7, 1/7, and 6/7. They should all have been at 6/7 but the third one went from 5/7 to 1/7 when I prayed.

I didn't even bother submitting a ticket because Cryptic won't do anything, they just don't care.

Something is obviously messed up on their end but they just don't care.

While I'm not agreeing with the guy you responded to, you only proved him correct in that it's a punishment by using punishment as an analogy. Just saying.

For that matter, if Cryptic adopted me, why am I paying them instead of receiving an allowance? ;)

I just had to go away for the weekend and lose my coins. I know what the DND player stereotype is but do I really have to give up having a life to keep my celestial coins?

Anyway, I've seen a number of people report disappearing coins so far. They can't all be wrong about what time they logged in. (I actually write my times down... first time I had to keep a ledger to play an MMO. STO had a countdown timer on daily stuff.)

hovering your cursor over your celestial/ardent coins in the currency tab of your inventory lets you know how much time you have left.

I am just making an observation, but this looks to me like you forgot to invoke on the one character. It happens, noone is perfect.

To the other guy, nonsensei or whatever, how are you being punished? Are you having to pay a fine or do extra tedious things in game? No? hmm so then how are you punished? By not being rewarded, entitled much? That is not punishment my friend, that is like going to a store with a buy one get one free offer and complaining you did not get the free item simply because you didn't buy the first one.

These are small rewards given out for continuous play, if you forget to do the simple task assigned don't say you are being punished, tell yourself I forgot to do it and now I do not get the reward. Stop trying to blame others for your actions, and if you do decide to blame others make sure you have some concrete proof. And no, saying but I always log in and invoke is not proof, having it on your other character is not proof.

The Celestial Coins function the same as the "Daily Login Bonus" feature that's common in a good number of f2p games these days... they are a reward for consistent logins. Since they are a reward for consistent logins, it makes sense that if you don't log in consistently, you lose that reward.

(Personally, I've never had them reset oddly on my 8 characters. But that doesn't mean other people aren't getting some sort of bug.)

Ah the fanboy logic system :D

"Are you being charged for it? no? then you can't have an opinion on it!"

"you're being charged for it? Well naturally, they have to make money stop saying you don't want them to make money" <lolstrawman

"You don't like it? you're being paid to say that by another games company that's jealous of PWE"

"You're paying for it but it's bugged and you can't get a refund? You shouldn't ask for refunds, it's a beta you should have known better than to pay into a beta that's free"

Contradictions left right and center xD fun fun fun fun fun fun fun

Gotta love how he immediately goes into the whole "burden of proof also" XD haha.

Yeah but that's only a timer from the previous invoke, you still have to keep tabs on when the next coin shows up. I invoke more than once a day on most of my characters because I log them all in frequently, even if it's just to mess with crafting. (Because with the current lag problem from some routes on the East Coast, sometimes it's difficult to do anything else.)

Did you even read my post? I am definitely not a fan boy.
The person who is complaining that someone got something they didn't because they didn't do something? Sounds childish and entitled to me.

Please stop making absurd accusations. The OP is claiming the system is bugged with no proof of anything. But your post seems to imply that he shouldn't have to prove anything and that the company is to blame.
In truth all we know is that the company offers small rewards for invoking daily, if you do not invoke within this threshold (which is actually longer than a day) you lose the small amount of temporary REWARD coins you accumulated. If you couldn't log in you should have spent them, otherwise kiss them good bye, don't come here to ***** and complain that the game must be bugged because you may have forgotten to do something.
If you can show that you invoked everyday and that there is no possible way that you could have forgotten then by all means, but don't say **** like, I swear I invoked I totally remember doing it so that means I did, kind of argument. And expect everyone to be on your side.

And again, calling me a fan boy, man get over yourself. If you ever read any of my other posts you would see I am definitely not a fanboi. But you are most likely similar to the OP and make broad judgements with no evidence.

Also the OP claims to being punished. How is he being punished?
