A 2000 ZEN Prize Contest!UPDATE: 8/24/2013
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner, and that winner is...TSERAN
To promote my new Foundry Quest, I'm offering a 2000 Zen award to the lucky winner of a raffle! I'm also willing to do review trades, as I love supporting my fellow authors. All you need to do to enter is find the colorful fellow in the image below! (Which conveniently also has the entry rules for the contest)
I've added an additional map to this quest since its initial release, with a hint on where to find the prize!
The last day to enter for this contest has been extended to August 23rd, 2013. You must submit by midnight, PDT, in order to enter.
On The Wings of Morpheus is a bizarre and surreal quest that on the surface appears to be mundane; a quest to relax, get some R&R and make some cookies. Things quickly spiral out of control.
This quest is designed for one and one player only. I've received some praise for its humor and I have [hopefully] removed all the bugs that it initially launched with.
Happy Questing, and Good Luck!

Overall it's a great adventure. Weird, but in a good way. I kept a notepad next to me and jotted down some notes while I played. So these are just my "thinking out loud" comments as I went.
* I like the beginning. The set-up for the story is clever -- a nice change of pace from a typical adventure. Nifty!
* You may want to reposition or turn Donny during his first dialogue with the player. The way he is now, he's facing his wife and standing close. The result is the wife's hind quarters being front and center during the dialogue, and some of his animations appear rather odd.
* I loved being hit on the head. Nice job. Nice way of slowly introducing the situation. Very cool.
* The entire adventure did very weird things to my pet Galeb Duhr. It got stuck over and over again. Especially in the first maze. No idea why, since the monsters had no trouble moving around. I logged out and back in again, but had the same issues. Switched pets and it still happened. Strange.
* The burning chair has the phrase, "the first has always been burning." That doesn't make sense. The first what? It feels like a word is missing.
* I liked how "Yourself" changed as the adventure progressed. (I was a bit skeptical at first, since my first encounter looks nothing like me. But I figured out what you were doing. Okay.) What about including a "self" with a different color skin once in a while?
* The jumping puzzle. Yeah. That one. Okay, I get it. And I liked the option of bypassing the whole thing. But it really amounted to trial and error instead of being a true puzzle. How about some kind of clue to help navigate through it? Maybe place objects on the platforms that have a certain logic to them? (Say, follow the items in alphabetical order; as long as you keep the pattern going, you can get through.) Even if you don't tell the pattern to the player, there's at lease some thinking involved instead of jump, drop, rinse, repeat.
* The Chief Goblin got stuck in the walls of her tent and wouldn't attack. I know, just a random thing that happens in this game. But I figured I'd point it out. That one tent detail causes weird things to happen in Foundry adventures, because critters can't seem to walk out the doorway, yet they try to fight whatever is on the other side of the tent anyways.
* There's a floating rock path behind that circular tent, too. Of course, in this adventure, that may be intentional.
* Malicifant Magdelene Muffintop. Bwa ha ha ha ha!
* Some of the jokes were pretty funny. Nicely done!
* How did you create those spinning concentric circles under the healing fire (around the stone post) near the end? Pretty cool!
Thanks for the adventure!!!
Nice, I do the same thing.
You know, I swear I've rotated him half a dozen times now. He might just want to show off his wife's butt. I'll turn him again.
I unfortunately have no control over mob pathing, which is what you're describing. Foundry projects tend to wreck havoc on them.
Whoops, typo.
Unintentional racism. Whoops. I'll see what can be changed.
...like this?
Entertainingly, the map came like that and I can't change that rock. Silly Cryptic.
Those naturally occur under the fire, actually. I didn't have to do a thing. It is a cool effect though.
Thanks a bunch for your feedback, and congrats on your entry into the raffle!

DOH!!
Anyway, completed, reviewed (in PM), and passcode sent.
I had an idea for a contest as well in my upcoming foundry (still testing through and re-tuning things), thought with a bit different reward idea.
Well. Um. Uh... yeah. I mean... DOH! How'd I miss that? Ack!

New to the game? Use that ID and rise through the ranks quicker than RatedR and Zotics can run from Hamsup (you wont get that if youre not on Atlantis but you will )
Oh and the issue with the key wasn't to do with graphics (which are high on my PC anyway), I just didn't take the directions as to its whereabouts literally enough first time around
It is open to all servers.

I just finished your quest (3 times I could not find that halfing!!!) I kept my eyes open for typos and such, and I only found one small thing.
During your conversation with Guard Frinko: "Well... I guess if Sargeant Knox says so... that makes it a Quest! My destiny is to bake some cookies!" A to an E, and Q should be lowercase.
I literally struggled to find anything else that might be considered for a fix to improve the quest. I can say there was virtually nothing else.
(I hope this counts for my 'meaningful review', because I only had room for praise in the review box!)
Other than that, I had a blast playing your quest. You made great use of various foundry FX, and I loved the way everything tied in to the picture on the wall. Great job!
If you get bored counting entries, perhaps you'd be so kind as to play my quests in my sig below. I'm almost finished with the 3rd installment, and I'm hoping for more feedback on the first two so I can gauge what people are liking the most. Thanks for the fun!

I was wondering - did anyone playing with very poor graphical settings have any issues? I didn't have any issues with earlier versions of the quest, but I couldn't speak to "myself' after acquiring the red milk a few times. After realizing my monitor was plugged into the motherboard rather than the video card, I tried the quest again and didn't have that issue again. ...Which.... is weird, I know.
Also, doing the jump puzzle with a weak graphics card... that's just cruel. When I wasn't just guessing wrong or misremembering, I would occasionally experience lag/video issues that would cause me to mistime jumps. Anyway, I did it once, so I feel no guilt in skipping it on subsequent runs. I, too, did not realize what that bizarre wall of lights was supposed to be. I certainly never expected it to be the solution.
I guess because it isn't visible unless you turn, it becomes harder to associate the two?
No comment on video card thingy, I would hope that that would not have any impact.

Anyway, when i grabbed the red milk and i selected burn everything to the phoenix the yourself npc is floating high in the sky and i cannot talk to him and cant finish the quest
Very bizarre and certainly not intended. I'll take a look, but it might be more expeditious to try exiting and re-entering the quest if you haven't already abandoned it. I know that some of taken that route before successfully.

Both times I played through it it happened to me, (I chose different answers both times). The 2nd time I logged to the character selection screen and that fixed it.
I apologize, hopefully Cryptic will revert these ridiculous changes.
(For example, "John" is now a swear)

Um... I don't remember any cursing?
The new filter for foundry is ridiculous, especially since one of the characters in my quest is named "John".
I'd appreciate it if you tried my quest, but this wasn't listed as a trading reviews so no problem if you don't.
