Pure opinion. GW2 was a good once through, after that it was bland, boring and shallow. Sound familiar? The new trend with the new "Action" MMO
And I think the endgame is refreshing getting lateral gear improvements instead of banging my head on the newest raid to get the newest gear that out dates everything that was previously put out. Thus making the older, original raids obsolete as well.

Yes, my opinion only. I leveled every profession to 60 and geared them out, then played WvWvW until they broke it. To me it was much more fun than raiding for 4 hours a night 3 nights a week until I want to puke out the game and quit. But I have raided hardcore in numerous games and have just lost interest. MMO's need to find a better way to endgame. Raids are why I can never play a game for more than a few months lately.

I don't disagree as far as raids. What I disagreed with was the "GW2 is awesome". It was an ok game fora few months, but it is so shallow and bland that it lost me after just a few months whereas I played one game for 7 years previously. I just think those days are gone for most of us with the new cash shop trend.

Until someone comes out with something truly unique I agree with you. I have a hard time seeing anyone play for the length of time they played the panda game for. When it came out it was unique and people have had years to create in game relationships. I don't see that happening in any new games. The cash shop (and being able to buy in game currency through it) is ruining MMO's. The problem is it is almost impossible to stop gold farmers and sellers without offering it in game.

I assume by panda game you mean WoW? If so it was far from unique, it was however very polished and well done, learning from the mistakes of the few other mmo`s before it. Though it was not perfect either, though did alot right.
That said yes mmos need to be able to cater to those that like to raid, those that like to 5 man, and those that like to solo but chat away and all types inbetween... thats the hard equation to balance.

I'm sorry for off topic but guys from CRYPTIC are out of their mind, I guess. Firstly, I cannot create a new thread even if my account has already a few months. Blocking people the ability to create new threats on the forum is the most stupid invention I have ever seen in the internet. Now let's hear me out, I don't really care if someone from CRYPTIC will read this but if you do then read this carefully at least.
Foundry tool is more offline than online with tons of bugs in it which doesn't seem to be fixed in the near future.
You decreased the amount of expirience in dungeons and foundry quests to amount which is ridiculous. For a tough fight with lots of strong as hell moobs to kill in a dungeon we get almost nothing experience.
People in MMO games go to dungeons for experience and new cool items. Just saying as you may not know, after your actions, I'm really not sure about your knowledge about mmo games. In the foundry quests at the end is a chest, ''Oh great, new, cool items!'' No in Neverwinter, here at the end of a foundry quest you get a piece of useless item which you could rather drop from a normal moob which you can kill by 3 hits. Sounds sick ? Let's hear more! At the end of each normal dungeon which the average time is about 45 minutes to 1 hour we have to kill tons of moobs for which we don't get almost any experience because of previous nerfs which fixed one of your problems but made the whole gameplay bad without any sens of going to dungeons and the same is with the foundry quests. But comon... there must be something good about this dungeons right ? Right! There's a chest at the end of each normal dungeon as it is in the foundry and hopefully there's a chance for a blue item for one of the guys of five in the group and what ? Of course the chests are bugged and at the end, after 1 hour of killing, smashing and killing bosses we get nothing from the chest. Not even the one blue item for one of the people as the chests are bugged and won't open for some reason.
Also, I'm having sounds bugs while fighting with bigger number of moobs in skirmish missions and in any other place.
What we are getting so far ? New mounts in the zen shop, new companions in the zen shop, potions to pvp to get power over other players who would love to play normal. This is a very bad way you choose to go by. As fast you got a lot of players to your game, that fast you can lose them forever. At the moment, I'm not enjoying this game at all. Let's see what's your next move. I'm just saying my thoughs and you can see that my thoughts are not very positive at the moment. I hope you will make it to change soon.
(Thanks to ''fefeenach'', paragraphs are a good idea though. I'm sorry, I forgot to put them at the very beginning.)
Why does endgame always have to be raids? GW2 is a great game and has no raiding.
We will see how Malabog Castle is but atm what is "endgame"? Invoking on all the characters you can stand to in order to farm enchants and wards? It's certainly not Foundry well...trading your potions for unidentified greens through a trash mob/rper woodchipper doesn't feel satisfying ( to me ).

There really isn't any real endgame in NW. They should really try to come up with something other than raids though. I think a lot of people quit because endgame is raids and it gets boring doing the same raids over ad nauseam until you and your crew have all the best gear then on to the next to do it again or a few people quit and you have to run new ppl through the old raid to get them geared.. *pukes all over*
I just really want a game to come out with something that is not raids as endgame and is dynamic enough to keep everyones interest. I used GW2 as an example just because of the horizontal progression. I haven't played for a few week and I do not feel like I have fallen way behind in the game. Or maybe offer a variety of endgame activities like GHW2 does and maybe that includes some raids with horizontal gear progression.
I don't know the answers I just don't think raids are the answer.

Endgame is crafting, soloing dungeons, epic dungeons, epic CN, and GG. And Fury of the Feywild.
We're getting new content a couple of months after launch - which is way better than waiting a year or more.
Can't please all of the people all of the time. Keeping everyone's interest is unrealistic - especially since everyone has different interests.

GG is great. More events like that would be great. Modules, like FoF, are great, too.
We're slated to have a 2nd module before the end of the year.
I'm not seeing what there is to complain about - especially when you're not paying a monthly subscription. You're getting plenty of something for nothing; not nothing for something.

I agree with most of that except the GG part.
GG has amazingly bad design or it is not designed with a goal of "fun" in mind. It showed almost a complete lack of play testing and the rewards are not in any way balanced.

I'd like to express my everlasting gratitude to that poster for explaining to Cryptic exactly why I play MMOs. I'm impressed. He's obviously psychic. I guess I better keep watch on my bank account and all my other accounts since he can clearly read my mind and knows exactly why I do things. Even better than I do, it seems.
All this time I thought I was playing MMOs for the chance to hang out with friends and beat up on a few bad guys while we do it.

"People" obviously means "Every person who ever breathed" so I can see why you're so stunned. Also, how are your two visions for mmos mutually exclusive?
There is no forum xp bar to fill by being needlessly combative.

That poster is, like many people on the internet, attempting to support his claim with hyperbole, spurious statistics and broad, sweeping generalizations.
A statement such as "People go into dungeons for experience and loot" is overly generalized.
A statement such as "I go into dungeons for experience and loot, and I suspect many others do, too." is accurate and free of hyperbole. It contains a little speculation, but it's a reasonable guess.
I don't get why more people don't understand the difference.
I have a serious question for people who do not want raiding or vertical profession systems. Do you think Cryptic should spend their limited time doing something you would enjoy more, or do you think you will feel forced to spend your time raiding?
I can understand people who would rather have guildhalls, improved Foundry tools, and quality of life improvements. Watching people hate on large scale and challenging (and rewarding) content, just because they don't want to feel pressured to do it, is depressing.

Maybe plenty of people do and they just can't be driven to argue with, call out, or otherwise bother posters with less then amazing grammar.

I would feel pressured to do it if it was for top tier gear. If it was horizontal progression raid and was purely for really cool cosmetic gear I would feel less pressure and probably find a casual raiding guild to run in. The problem is raids get so boring. It is the same thing every time. Once you have completed it you are forced to run it over and over to get everyone geared up.
I wanted raids myself at first, but now getting into the game and seeing that 90% of the people playing this game are absolute trash players .....
CN is almost too hard for a large majority of the playerbase and now we want harder content?
LOL, oookie dokie.
This is the other problem with raids. Most players today are not good at all, so to appease everyone the raids eventually need to be nerfed to accommodate the lowest common denominator. This makes the raids even more boring to run. The main goal for me, and I would assume a good majority of players is gear. People not good enough to get it want it, so they will get it as they are the majority. The reason to have raids seems to me is so the hardcore players can have the best gear to epeen over. The problem is they cant have that as other will want it and it gets nerfed. I would not be surprised if in the next few months this game gets a huge nerf of dungeons. I have yet to complete a lvl 60 dungeon in this game in a PuG as it is way too hard for most people to get out of fire.
Its funny actually cause i recall an interviev from before game went "live" where someone from Dev team stated that one class is almost complete and now it went backwards to 40% lol.

Here's an end-game idea (well overall game idea) take the best Foundry quests in house...
1) tweak
2) add real loot to them
3) add voice overs
4) reward the quest designers with lots of AD (like a 1mil per chapter or something).
Criteria... 3 chapters at least of 30 to 45mins each. (or something similar)
There are some real cool quest designs, but they aren't worth running for AD with the horrible loot system.
Make it a quarterly contest or something... you already have featured foundries... do something with them!

This is an awsome idea but think of all of the people they would have to hire to go through all of the Foundries ppl would submit with a reward system. I doubt it would be cost efficient for them.

Why must it end like this?!?
Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor.

YES I could barely get through that.
L2Paragraph. Wall o text BUUURNNNZZZZ
The
... sort of... fixed.
I agree with most of that except the GG part.
GG has amazingly bad design or it is not designed with a goal of "fun" in mind. It showed almost a complete lack of play testing and the rewards are not in any way balanced.
Also:
I wanted raids myself at first, but now getting into the game and seeing that 90% of the people playing this game are absolute trash players .....
CN is almost too hard for a large majority of the playerbase and now we want harder content?
LOL, oookie dokie.
Sometimes u need to give 1 sted behind.. to give 2 ahead! LOL
