Funny, I managed to do it with extreme ease on my 38 cleric...as a matter of fact it was easier then it was running with my 60 TR that's geared to the nuts lol
Must be nice. What kind of pet do you have? I have a fighter pet rather than a tanking pet, since I (usually) group with my husband's guardian fighter.

Pick your side, take a stand, save--or kill--your former allies.
My char is a lvl 34 Cleric and the sad truth is that I couldn't manage this quest. The mobs at the top of the green chain were too hard for me already. I died multiple times and went through over 28 potions. Then I gave up.
.
Are you talking about the group during the "release the gate" objective? Some folks seem to get confused with having to use the teleporter to get behind the enemy lines and trying to circumvent my invis wall to jump into the area in front of the gate with the stacked encounters. The group on the other side of the teleporter should be easy to beat, considering the guards can defeat them by themselves. If you try to get past the invis walls to fight those other mobs, you will die. You're not meant to be there, hence the walls.

No. I mean when you first climb up the chain, and there are spiders and stuff in the misty woods. Where you get to the end and you're told that you should do the first optional quest if you want to, because you can't after you zone.

Ahh, the rappelling rope! Wow, that's the 1st real encounter. I have 2 guard groups up there. Just pull the mobs to the group if the pathing for them breaks. Or just run to the Tempest Witch boss and the new group will respawn, and kill most of the mobs.

I'll try again tomorrow. I think I can get hubby to play it with me then. I may just need a tank or something. I'm strongly tweaked towards healing and threat reduction currently.

Cool, if not I can find you some on Dragon to run you through it.

I was really looking forward to it, too, because I wanted to see what others were doing with "underdark" areas.
But what I got to see of it was great and very enjoyable. Strangely, when I deleted the quest from my journal, it gave me the option to review it. I chose not to, because I don't want to bring down your rating with "too hard for my lvl 34 cleric".
I had these exact same problems.
I tried with TR60, DC50 and CW20 and finally a really low level DC.
Having done it on the lowbie DC I am sure I could now do it on the others.
The really (read REALLY, REALLY) important thing to do is follow the Quest Trail, and let the NPC's engage the fight first.
Once I got the hang of that it went smoothly.
This can be a tad difficult on the side-quests, but they are very much worth it too - the Slaver's Dock is a masterpiece.
Don't give up on it, it really is worth the effort.

This is normal. If you had chosen the option to review, you would have received a message saying something like "you have to complete this quest in order to review it".

Ok Nyghoma here goes.
First off, best quest of yours by far imo. Left you a 5 star and leaving review here:
Thought the story was just a lot of fun. When you said you wanted to just take the time and release it when you finally felt it was ready paid off imo. FAR cry from the first time I saw it and loved running through it. I didn't have the issues with the mobs on my 36 CW. Mostly because I knew already to let the guards engage however. That all went smooth as silk. Side quests were fun and well worth the time. I came out around 47 minutes in case you are wondering time to run thru with doing all that.
Environments came out top notch. There was one place that it felt a little too cramped but still looked visually great so I didn't care much lol.
Did not have an issue finding the chain, and really only got turned around one time and it was my own stupidity.
So all in all I really liked it, very well done. I will run it a second time on speed run and see what time I can come in on.

Yea it was a tricky dilemma I had when making this quest. Follow command barely work. Even on totaly bare landscapes follow fails at times. So I had to trigger the guards on place markers/events. Following the quest objectives is the best way to ensure guard help. But I see the issue with tackling the side quest and all the exploration involved. There are a couple of rough spots if things are done out of order.
Thanks for the kind words Red.
