Torn between this game and another...

Since reading the announcement for the first module this summer, and the event tomorrow I am torn..
Im torn..Go back to GW2 or stay here. After seeing what a fail of of a job Gauntlgrym is/was and how much it lacks, it made me question cryptics ability to give us meaningful content, stuff that anyone can enjoy(guilded or not, casual or not). But the first module looks like its what we need(even though you can say that its content they have had nearly complete but just wanted to hold out for an expansion to give us the illusion of rapid content updates).

Now, on the other hand, GW2 has severely pissed me off over the last few months. Living story, while a unique idea, has been nothing but fluff and temporary filled with horrible RNG. But they listened, and are pumping out less RNG content, more temporary content, and new systems that cater to my playstyle a bit more.

So Im legit torn. I have walked the line between two games before, and I just don't have time to do that.

With Neverwinter:
-I like the combat, the spell/ability effects, the character models/graphics, the dungeony/deathy/undead type of environments(whispering caverns..awsome area). I like the nich

Play both... since both games don't require monthly subscription.

As an Action RPG and free to boot, I find NWO fits very well alongside the MMO I currently subscribe too.

I would understand your dilemma about not being able to devote time to two MMOs with more depth or requiring subscription, but don't see why it would be an issue for either of these FTP MMO-lite games.

I switch between a bunch of games like GW2, Neverwinter, Defiance, Diablo III ..that way you don't feel burned out.

    Why not both?

My girlfriend and I currently spend our time gaming between - Neverwinter, Champions Online, GW2.
Then we have a couple of separate games.

For casual gamers like myself, moving back and forth through the MMOs I like is better than continual grinding on one and getting burned out.

I still have my GW2 account, just like I have this NWO account. I've enjoyed Neverwinter, and burned out on GW2. As others have said, you don't really need to make some sort of on-way choice. Just play whatever you enjoy when the mood strikes you. They're both F2P, and if you've played GW2 than you already made the initial one-time purchase.

In short, if you want something different and enjoying playing or making UGC, spend time with Neverwinter. If you prefer a more structured MMO with regular updates, then spend time with GW2.

This. It's why I don't like subscription MMOs anymore. I don't want to feel like I have to log in as much as possible to "get my money's worth." Play as much as you want, when you want.

I would hardly consider GW2 an MMO-lite game. Even though the content they have been adding is more fluffy and filler than anything else, it is still stuff added constantly for free. And they are trying new things every few months. Guessing that game you are subbed to is WoW...a game that was content to stay static and content for 6 years until this recent xpac.

    Still torn tho :/

I'm in the same boat. Got GW2 ages ago, leveled to 80, and got tired of the grind. But, here's my 2 cents.. I paid about $60.00 for GW2. I payed $0.00 for NW2.. And, for the investment, I would pick GW2 over neverwinter, no questions. I've played almost every mmo from Ultima Online, EQ1/2, Wow (till litch king), EVE Online, AC1/2/. You name it, I've tried it. But I don't find any value in monthly subs anymore, so I avoid those. I've found Champions Online, Star Trek, and Neverwinter by far to be the most money grubbing games, hands down. I've gotten 2 characters to 60 in less than a month, geared them up to T2, and.. well, it's pointless. Gaunt was an epic fail, and I don't have much hope for the first module. Too many bugs, it's just not worth the time anymore. So if you DO have 60 bucks to spend, spend in on GW2, and don't waste your money on neverwinter.

When a game is not pay to play you cannot really leave it: you can play others games for months, years but when you feel like playing it again all you have to do is to click on the shortcut on your desktop and there you are. So your problem really doesn't exist. Today you play one of the two games, tomorrow the other...
