What I did was copied the whole Cryptic studio folder in your game directory and paste it back and replace all folders once you re-installed the game. it works fine.

Please can someone just tell me what are the files inside the live folder in the Cryptic studio directory?

. . . . . Those are the installation files. Live denotes it is the live client (during testing, we had alpha and beta folders for example). Cryptic'd three games will want to install in the same directly structure.

    /Cryptic Studios/Neverwinter/live
    /Cryptic Studios/Star Trek Online/live
    /Cryptic Studios/Champions Online/live

. . . . . All game launchers (patchers) will install and run from /Cryptic Studios/ so you'll want to copy your whole Cryptic Studios folder and transfer it over. Game Clients (that the launcher loads) are located in the /live/ folders, respectively. When initially launched, the launcher will create installation registry data of the current location, as though you installed it and chose that location during installation.

    . . . . .
When moving the folder around on the same OS, you would need to manually go in and change the installation registry data in regedit for their target logations otherwise the launcher will just re-patch the game back to the location set in your registry - but the way the registry data is, you'd need to edit binary code to do so. It's easy though to copy to a fresh machine/install.

Just an FYI ... if you move the install path or drive, you will have to change the registry entry for the installer path .. otherwise it will not see your many GB of patches that you already have downloaded.

. . . . . Most welcome, holler back if you run into any issues. I've done a lot of this as well as even edited my registry a few times moving my installations about, which is tricky because of the way spaces are coded in the registry for Cryptic's installation paths.

. . . . . You shouldn't need to mess with the registry or run into any issues copying the whole directory to a new Machine or fresh OS however, for if there is no registry data when you load the launcher, it will create it using the directly you pasted it in. If you do run into issues, just rely back. Good luck!
