Interesting change to the quest as I checked it before bed.


"Bonds of a Brother"

5 star - 26 increased by 3
4 star - 11 reduced by 1
3 star - 2

However there were only 2 more plays of the quest in total and the one review that was posted was for a 3 star.
Maybe I am getting some replays and a changed mind on the quality of the quest.

That may have been me. I played part three some time ago can't remember when. When I played the 1st recently and then went on to the 2nd and 3rd and gave them all five. The 3rd part is much better if you have played the first two.

My fave was A Salty Sailor's Brew, The mountain map was just excellent. One thing though. For some reason when I went up towards the ruins entrance I went round from the left and ended up behind the invisible wall, so I had to go back and up from the right to get to the bush that you move. A fun set of quest's that are most enjoyable if you play them one after the other.

Are cool thanks for the info. I am definetly trying to build the story across levels. after the campaign is done I think my quests will be more start to finish in one quest.

Although I have been lucky so far to not falling to troll reviews the 7 stars below 4 still hurt that adjusted rating quite alot.
This also shows the extra veiws we do get from the menus as I have done little to no advertising over the last few days and yet Bonds of a Brother has been receiving alot of attention while sitting high on the new tab.

Unless it was another author then I think 3 stars is though of as pretty good.

I have so many 3 stars with comments like great story, Had fun, Loved it.

I doubt players know that a 3 star can lower our adjusted rating.

Exactly. I really don't think people take alot of notice at all when they review they just pick a number.
It is only authors who really feel the impact of lower ratings. I am not sure why they chose to implement an adjusted rating system. I wouldn't even be tracking this if my campaign was sitting like the actual average stars were. 4.5 star average is pretty nice in my book.
Could always have some tabs with quests with under a 100 reviews and then over so that a quest with 1 @ 5 star review didn't sit above everything but I really don't think the current system is working. Looking forward to seeing what the changes next patch will make to our quests.

The quests are getting alot more plays recently but that seems to be overly due to being on the new list with "Bonds of a Brother"
and its length floating around 16-17 minutes perfect for an easy daily. I have around 180 plays yet only 88 actual reviews for the third quest. I have also seen a drop in useful comments on the quests compared to the starting reviews that I was trading for with other authors. The general population seem alot tougher on quest ratings. But overall this has been an interesting data collection.

The review box is not there to give feedback to the author, but to the players following. The question inside the box asks "What was great about this quest?" so the comment that it was 'Fast' is obviously a plus to the author of that comment, and all the reasons that made it a 3* and not a 4 or 5 star quest, in their eyes, unfortunately remain a mystery.

The same with the 2* that pointed out a lack of commas. If you have to think about the review at all, best to think about what isn't said. It's the same with the 'no loot' type comments alongside a 1 or 2 star rating - if players enjoy the quest, they are not going to knock off a whole 3 or 4* simply because the chest was empty. Doesn't happen.

Your play:review ratio is following the average. Roughly 50% of players leave a review until a quest is picked up as a daily, then it obviously decreases to account for replays...some of the more popular Daily's run under 40%. (Obviously this assumes the quest is in the public awareness domain, not the early stages where it is only being played/reviewed by fellow authors).

Glad to see you aren't being 1* bombed at any rate.

Haven't logged on for a couple days and was impressed with the amount of reviews coming in. The new list is working a treat with "Bonds of a Brother" sitting 5th now.(either a few dropped off being new or they finally removed some of the exploit maps.)
It has started to lower the time now with it bordering at 15 mins again. With the replays I guess people can skip dialogue quickly and get through faster. Also noticed that next time I publish it I have to rename the profane word "Child" to daughter lol.
I would still love to see the math on the adjusted ratings. Seems enough low values coming through to slow the progress.

Hey Guys

Just a quick note informing everyone that I am removing my content for the time being. I haven't been able to edit since the patch and I worked hard for the levels that my quests got to. My second quest has teleport issues and hence isnt going anywhere. I can't even load it at the moment to withdraw. I don't want to see reviews opened up again without knowing my quests are working 100%
thanks to those who have enjoyed them so far.
