Current State: 5
Potential: 9
Pros:
- GREAT lore in-game. They really nailed this.
- Beautiful world, through and through.
- Plenty of quests to solo.
- Foundry is a great touch, albeit, limited.
- Skirmishes are fun!
Cons:
- Super linear world. Feels too constricted.
- Quests are predictable and become a chore. "Oh, you need 10 of those killed? Who would'a thought?"
- Boss battles are soooo cheap. The adds are worse than the bosses themselves, who can usually just be ran around in circles to defeat.
- AD is completely unbalanced. I mean, broke. Utterly.
- Shallow character creation.
- Queuing takes forever. If there is some behind the scenes magic teaming people up, it needs to be tweaked. It's atrocious.
- Leveling takes no time.
- Boring weapon and armor sets aesthetically. Forgot BoP making me feel unique, I want to look unique.
Ultimately, I am disappointed PWE didn't capitalize on D&D. It really just seems like a wrapper over a generic MMO, to generate money. Eh, it's a business, so I get it. I may or may not stick around... Depends on how the summer patches go.
i still like the game, but i am enjoying it less the longer i play.
the action and graphics are good.
however lists of broken skills on every class, spending too much time holding left click waiting for cooldowns, things like block just being unresponsive, and the zen prices being so ridiculous are really pushing me away.
i mean when i log in to play its a constant reminder that i will never have a nice mount because i am not going to spend 40$ for one virtual item. when i am in fights and i try to time my blocks with some skill and realize the games slow response time wont allow for it. spending skill points and knowing at least half the skills are garbage fillers i will never use...
the game has a lot of potential, but they really need to get with polishing things up or its going to fade away. people will not wait around for 6+ months for fixes. new games are always coming out.
then again, this all goes back to the modern mmo model of soft launches and wanting money for unfinished products.
they make a quick buck and have a terrible reputation for it.
