So, in my quest to make perhaps one of the most original maps ever, if only because I keep trying random ideas as they come to me, I am asking for ideas for original traps that can be implemented through clever use of various features in the Foundry. I currently have plans for a rolling boulder trap, a corridor of death trap (you know, when the walls decide they want to make you flat?), and I even have plans to use a crumbling floor trap over a hole in a cave room later on.
The point of this thread though is to ask for ideas for other traps, both for my own use and for others to use. As 2 of my traps admitedly came from the DM Studio Foundry "quest", which is awesome and you all should go check it out, I can't actually take credit for them, but you can go check them out in the game to learn how to make those. My boulder is an experimental idea I haven't managed to make yet because the map it was going to be on ran out of Encounters to make timers with. When I make it, I'll explain in this thread (in this very post even) how to make it so others can add their own Indiana Jones inspired trap (not that it's really all that original, as it's been in quite a few games/movies/books/media).
So please, post ideas here so everyone can improve their quests! Maybe these can eventually be made real traps that we can put in easier than having to jury-rig them.

I've added an "acid bath" trap in the latest version (unfortunately, I have the "still publishing" bug, so I can't update it yet).
Also check out Casten's "collapsing bridge" idea in this post. It has some similarities with a rolling boulder trap. That's going to be challenging to animate.
Currently, I'm working on "anti-traps", that the player can use to defeat mobs (like dropping a chandelier on a group of mobs, as you can do in Diablo 3).
You can also google D&D traps, for lots of ideas. Unfortunately, most are impractical due to Foundry limitations.

Put a big, shiny, sparkly object in the middle of an empty room.
Several hard encounters spawn when you click on it.
The only way to evade the trap is NOT to click on it
Best trap ever

Lol.
Put a sign next to it saying "***Danger *** - ***Do Not Click***"
The collapsing bridge is all but identical to my hallway of death already XD
I'm still totally doing it in my cave map.
Though, because Cryptic is lame and only gives us 50 encounters and no built-in timer mechanism, these traps cost so many encounters I could otherwise include, which is a huge drawback when using a lot of them.
That said, anti-traps and an acid bath are both things that sound really interesting.
And thanks for pointing out that quest, I'll have to go check out Gloomlight now.
I'm using a gate/portcullis as a "trap" that appears after PC walks a few feet into a room, it appears and blocks backward escape until all encounters in room are cleared.
