I feel dumb asking but Im looking for advice regarding DC's tab power usage because unlike other classes Im playing, I find myself going through entire encounters without using the "tab" power.
I assume Im just misunderstanding its potential. So how does everyone else use it? With what combos? Ever just for healing or dmg?
FYI my DC is mid 30s

At your level, it makes a difference with Sunburst, the heal is stronger and more importantly, the knock back is considerably farther. It really (pre-patch) makes a difference with Astral Shield which you get at 50. AS is almost exclusively cast in divine mode. The game takes a leap at 50, and a bigger more challenging one post 60, especially in T2 and Caste Never dungeons.

I pretty much didn't use much in divine mode no reason to until 50+ and then in dungeons if you don't use everything except sunburst in divine mode then its pointless..... but as the others have said it is good to start learning to switch divine mode on and off for skills to get into practice.

I've mainly been using Divine + Daunting Light and Divine + Forgemaster's Flame for heals. Divine Sunburst is great for emergencies (when soloing at least, it's not very popular in groups).
If you ever cast Astral Shield or Forgemaster's Flame or Healing Word out of Divine mode, you're almost certainly doing it wrong, though they are exceptions for kiting or very occasional emergency Divinity building or you have absolutely no other choice (like Sunburst for quick Divinity is not available).
Sometimes Divine mode for Sunburst is useful for knockbacks, especially around ledges too. But you should refrain from using it that way until you learn how to consistently and quickly generate sufficient Divinity for your basic heals. Running out of Divinity can kill a group and random knockbacks are frequently annoying to the rest of your group, including a second Cleric.
If you often have excess Divinity or are running in dual Cleric groups, Divinity can be used for things like instant Chains of Light or instant and larger area Daunting Light (but this should be very rare because Divinity mode Daunting Light does not crit) or Bastion of Health, if you like.
So, overall, contrary to how it may initially seem to you, there is basically no class I know that uses its Tab slot more than the Cleric since all your main heals are on it. I use it so frequently that on my Cleric I rebound the Tab slot away from using Tab to using my thumb mouse button (under General->Keybinds and Special Keys->Mouse 4).
Outside of healing and spells listed above, Searing Light in Divinity mode becomes an aoe spell and could be useful while leveling.
Also, unlike other classes, Cleric essentially has a dynamic Tab slot because of the Divinity mechanic. The others have a single fixed spell that often has to be manually swapped from the Powers list.
This is correct, it most certainly does - this is my main go to atm while I'm solo leveling. When it crits pretty much one-shots all non-elites or very close to.

Divine mode + Forgemaster's Flame is a great AE heal.
Divine mode + Astral Shield is a great AE heal/damage reduction
Divine mode + Sunburst is a knock back and larger heal
Every encounter skill has an extra effect when you use Divine mode - familiarize yourself with what they are, and you'll be a much better cleric.

Pre-50/60 its not as important.

Yes, it does. Go try it on a dummy.

Well, I can never get it to crit in dungeons, whereas normal Daunting Light crits almost all the time plus gives a healthy amount of Divinity and AP.
