I am tired of hearing people cry about something that has been known since day 1 of Open Beta.

I for one think this is a great implementation and am looking forward to something new and exciting. I have always thought PvP is the true evolution of games because no AI can ever match the skill of the human player. (well except perhaps in Chess)

Bring on the new challenges and I am hoping this will be a nice intro to 20 man Foundry PVE/PvP content!

Looking foward to the next update where to get the best PvP gear in the game you have to clear an epic Dread Vault esq instance before you can play the PvP match to earn points .....

It will be no different than Wintergrasp. PUGs will pick up the fight in a couple of days, then you'll hop in, win the match, then farm some easy bosses for good loot.

I'm surprised that the dungeon is linked to the PvP match itself, but since I like PvP it's not a turn-off for me, but I can see how it will be for some.

Yeah, you have to be a member of a guild as well. Not so great for those of us whose primary play-style is PvE and not interested in a guild.

I guess I'll go back to continually crafting many, many pairs of pants.

I never hear that you have to be a member of a guild. I do not think this game puts on those sort of insane rules!!

There are some easy Guilds out there and you can look them up on Forums for your server - i.e.. 60% of peeps never talk in a Guild but are in it for the occasional Guild befit like Guild bank or the occasional friendly chatty run...

Also I have Played in Wintergrasp and it was a shambles - could get the best PVP score yet your faction gets to enter the event wether they wee there or not - this seems a lot fairer for those who put in the time. In WOW it was who u know not what u know - this seems a lot better.

Though; on a thought what if I just wanted to do it for the pvp (and then left) - they would have to come up with some system to fill places outside of Invite only.

(Please remember this is not faction based but - team based)

Maybe for those just in it for the PVP thrill (replaced firstly by the loosing side) and (they themselves get and add form the outside - maybe based on either play or random) - then again how many a day could you run - rofl

Oh well - try it before you buy it

Hint: A Night with Terrible Terrance - has been tweaked to the hilt and is now a daily foundry (why I wont to say this I do not know - It is not a cash cow 6/35 peeps donated money and it is not much - rofl)

I'm not a big PvP/raid fan. Having said that, this addition doesn't bother me. I'm glad PvPer's will have something else to entertain them. I might try Gauntlgrym once or twice. Maybe I'll enjoy it. Maybe not. There are parts of every game I've played that I tend to avoid. I don't have to like EVERY little thing about a game. Yay for people who like this sort of thing. The game doesn't have to cater to ME at every single turn nor can it cater to every single persons play style at every single turn. More PvE is coming. I'm looking forward to that.

And, players must be in a guild to participate. If you are a guild leader, you must align your guild with a faction and fight to defend its honor and legacy!

So, u just want to play pvp?? theres MMOS that just do PVP n do it way better. Let me guess ur a CW n can 1 hitter quitter every thing. This Grym u like is forcing people to play pvp. what happens when u don't like to play pvp... welp u go to a new game along with the rest of the population. BTW guild wars 2 has the best pvp 200 people in screen..... this has 20. that's all I have to say

It says that if you are a Guild LEADER - you must align yourself with a FACTION - that does not mean anything to anyone else.

i.e.. There are Factions - Guild Leaders must Align themselves with one. That is nothing to do with anyone else
    From your post -

From the quote from the link -
players must be in a guild to participate

That's what the entire point of my reply was...

Gauntlgrym sounds pretty awesome, but let's look at the human nature of mmo players and apply it to the game play that will be present in Gauntlgrym:

-Mixing the requirement that you PVP to PVE. PVP players will dominate because it rewards a T2 Phase 3. PVE players will rage, whine, and just quit.
-Penalizing losers of the PVP portion by rewarding them with a Tier 1 Phase 3. Groups will just quit as soon as they start losing the PVP portion because they won't have access to T2 carrots.
-After awhile no one will do Gauntlgrym because they will get sick of losing or having people bail or both or PVE players will quit.

It will be fun to watch dedicated teams play against each other via Twitch Stream, but I doubt I will participate, so I agree with you.

You could just change your Armour and Specs before each encounter - how is that for roleplaying???
