First and foremost do not take this thread the wrong way. I am making the thread to hopefully offer help to anyone who may need/want it.

Secondly, Dracolich fight relies heavily on skilled CWs.

With those two things out of the way...go ahead and ask me anything you would like regarding Castle Never.

it can also be done with only 1 CW, so my only question is what was your group comp.
    1DC, 3CW,1TR? :)

As much as having 2 DC seems to be the norm in more dungeons, I'm not a fan of it. I'm glad you're able to do this with 1 DC. Main reason for this is I'm finding out more and more that people are impatient and do not want to deal with even 1 group member not knowing what to do or not having 10k gear just to do T2's or even T1's! For me, I find being taught and/or learning a dungeon fun. Yes you could die a lot but so what? You're there to play a game after a hard day's work and de-stress. If you complete the dungeon then it's even better and you get pretty prices.

Anyhow, congrats, let us know how you handled the fight and what key functions did each of your team member played.

    - Trash is harder than any boss with a solo cleric - I've 4 manned it due to a dc from the 2nd cleric before the first boss
    - 'skilled' as in you know how to time your knockback then once you conquer that it's pretty repetitve
    - With only 4 people and one cleric you can heal through the damage even when your wizards miss a few knocks. Forgemaster combined with Astral Circle is enough healing to outpace damage from 10+ mobs.
    - You don't even need two wizards if your only wizard can knock reliably, you could run 2 gwf/rogue/wizard/cleric and it would still be very easy.

The only reason people cling to the double cleric idea is because it's so hard to not succeed with it. All content in this game so far is very easy to complete as long as you have one cleric, one wizard, and single target damage from any source. Anything beyond that is optional.

The impatience is naturally coming after you have fully cleared the dungeon 10+ times, you want it in farm status then. If you happen to take some new guys into your group only to see them leave after 2-3 trys on the last boss usually for "RL reasons" even though you just know they don't believe it's doable cause they're bad.. you will avoid that kind of situation in the future (happened to me quite a lot). Blame the party non replacement policy I guess.

2 DCs is just a safety blanket. It's really not needed in general if people have decent gear and know what they are doing.

I'm glad you made this thread though. I wish more people would be open to single DC groups. It's a lot faster for everyone and it's also a lot more fun to play DC when there is actually a risk of death.

Honestly, IMO, It's so much more fun running just 1DC and 1CW. 2CWs is also a safety blanket >.<. 1DC Just makes the dungeon more challenging. With 2DC everyone just gets so pampered with having not being able to die, on trash/bosses likewise.

We did it with 1 DC, 1 TR, 2 CW, GF.

Yes I did say a GF...and he played the last fight really well...he would "punt" the archers and red wizards to me and the CWs.

I agree with running 1 DC makes things funner. To faceroll with two DCs.

I noticed this as well. People get really sloppy and develop bad habits when they are used to 2xDCs. Stuff like not dodging and not paying attention to positioning/adds. It's just sort of lazy playing.

Just a big safety blanket for baddies. Guarantee you that a lot of people would not have completed some of the content they have if AS didn't stack. Some people absolutely swear by double cleric....rather sad.

This makes it hard to group and I refuse to play double DC ever.

Makes it hard to group?? What do you mean by this? Double cleric is like the "meta"...its the norm in most groups.

I've been seeing this some as well, people "ONLY" wanting two clerics. I've run every instance including CN now in our little group with no second DC. Most DC's I've met that regularly run double AS are quite bluntly not as good either. You're only hurting yourself skill wise if you become used to double stacking.

Seems like they may be addressing 2DC in the next patch, Stacking is specifically mentioned. Personally I hope its a blanket statement and Includes AS stacking and Tenb Stacking, we shall see. Wont bother me as I would rather solo heal, trouble is most pugs I join via zone chat already have a DC or look for another, very few will go with 1 DC, sad that people would rather stand in blue than avoid red.

At least in my static I get to solo heal, makes life far more interesting !!

Amazing how clerics with good gear go boasting bout single healing LOL. Not all people here are trying to prove that theyre PRO, they just want to FARM the easiest and safest way. No sense in proving your skills if your just after the loot. All this crying bout dual healing being for baddies is like crying out to people coz you want to be recognize as a pro just because you prefer single healing. Real life must be tough for you. And yeah, i love dual healing.

2xDCs is slow, inefficient, and boring. People who have run every single epic dungeon in the game many times need a challenge to keep things interesting. Whether that's 1xDC or 4-manning or whatever, good on them. You can continue playing with your double DC safety blanket - nobody is stopping you.

Personally I've been solo healing any content I could get into since level 15 or whatever CT starts. This means in sub par/average gear as well. I can totally relate to what you are saying I just think people will develop a higher skill level if they at least attempt solo healing things now and then :P

Shift key default.... and find non-HAMSTER CW that can solo KB, that is the CONTROL wizards job, not DC's, they tank AND heal.

Because having good gear is definitely how to gauge someones skill level. Especially in this game considering everything is BoE. I guarantee you 95% of the people who are able to do CN strictly because of being over 9200, bought their entire set off the AH.

Good attempt to flame this thread though. Double Cleric just lets you live through more mistakes...end of story.

Yeah, I can feel myself getting lazy and flabby every time that I do this, what's worse. I suspect that single cleric only seems OMFGhard to people at first anyway- push through it and you have a bit more fun as it's more like a game than just a light show.

Of course, it does require not just the DC to pay attention, but the rest of the team to actually do something more than just zone out and pound on bosses, too- that's often the sticking point. Because they are not not completely immune to most things, and they need to actually handle some of the adds for their healer, it may come as a nasty shock..

Did my first CN run today, 4-man-one-DC'd the second boss~ After that we decided to stop and do the Dungeon Delve event, since we doubted we could do the third without a 5th.

It's certainly more satisfying solo-healing stuff, but I think I like having a 2nd Cleric more. Otherwise the pressure is all on me and if I lag, or get knocked down at a bad time, it's pretty much a guaranteed wipe.

IME being the only DC on the Dracolich can be very tough to deal with, because you're totally relying on your CW skill to knockback the adds regurlarly and successfully. When Cryptic decide to move their lazy *** and stop making every boss an add fest, I'll reconsider my party setup.

Will definitely be looking forward to new boss mechanics, along with how those changes affect group comp/synergy.
