Cat needs to be removed or 'fixed'

As we all know, a lot of the cat in the game were gotten from exploits.

However, that's besides the point.

The Cat companion is extremely broken at the moment. It is the only non-combatant pet that gives you ALL of it's stats as your own. It can be used in pvp as well. It can never die.

Not only can you put 3 companion enchant runes on the companion itself, but you can also equip 3 additional pieces of equipment on it, and then add another 3 enchant runes that you would normally put on your own equipment.

NO where in the tool tips does it say that it transfers all of it's stats to your character, yet that's what it does. The tool tip says it gives you combat bonuses which should be a set amount of stats.

All the people complaining about certain classes being overpowered and being 1 shotted doesn't realize that the main cause is this cat. I've asked several people who 1 shotted me as a GWF, GF, CW, TR and even DC how they are doing it when I have full HP and they all had the Cat. I'm a TR and I have never 1 shotted anybody in the game when they had full health, even when I crit with Shocking Executioner.

Please remove the Cat or change it so it doesn't give you all of it's stats.

Can I get the opinion of other people who has the Cat please? I don't have the Cat myself so I can't speak from personal experience. But one of my guildmates bought a lot of zen and was able to obtain enough astral diamonds to get it. He says it's overpowered and I believe him. His GF is stronger than my TR right now because of it.

That is the specific function of the cat. Exactly what you are complaining about is what it is designed to do.

Is this true, because even my ioun stones go away in PvP, and i get a message "Your companions can't help you here" Is this just conjecture or a bug that's being exploited? I've never seen a cat in PvP either, so i'm doubting this is true.

the cat has three extra gear slots (ring, belt, and neck) and 3 rune slots (two offense and one defense). The cat gives all of it's stats gained from the equips and runes to you. atm my cat gives me a bonus 1185 power, 660 recovery, and 637 critical strike

ps. you can't use companions in pvp. the cat does not appear in pvp ever.

It works the same actually. Both also give bonus stats as well. Cat gives crit, I forgot what stone gives.

Interesting... can someone confirm that the Cat can be used during PvP ? I think the companion should still be disabled, if not then it's a bug.

You don't have it to test yourself, and you are asking for a nerf? that is rich.

Also , if a company sells something for real life money, and then they go back and nerf it, they get these huge shaitstorms.

Cat doesn't work in PvP so that's not the reason you're getting your *** handed to you.....

Cat works in pvp. Take a screenshot of your stats in a pvp match without the cat. Take a screenshot of your stats in a pvp match with the cat. If this wasn't intended, then it's a bug. Because our GF says it works. I'll tell him to post screenshot while in PVP match.

Also, it's obvious who the exploiters are. Just because some of you were able to exploit and get the cat doesn't mean it's "working as intended". Nobody knows if it's working as intended or not except for the devs. The tool tips sure doesn't say "Receive all stats from your Cat".

Maybe he found an exploit? I have no idea... I don't have one to test. I'm just going off of his word and the word of people I messaged when they 1 shotted me.

If anything changes stats in PvP, it is usually the level scaling to compete in your range...

Btw, how do you have 6400 power? I'm level 60 with all T1 gears with rank 6 power enchant stones on all my offensive slots and I don't even have half your power. Do T2 gears really give you double the power from T1 gears?

Can you post a screenshot of your stats and gears please?

It doesn't work in PvP. Tested it both on my GF and my wizard.

The whole idea of the Cat and the Stone is to be customizable "stats stick" for the PvE end game. They do not heal, do not tank and do not do damage, but instead give buffs to the player character. Other companions knock mobs prone, do AoE damage, put a damage reduction shield on players, etc -- those are all unique advantages, too. The Cat and the Stone are fine and do exactly what they are supposed to.

Interesting, I will ask my guildie how he's doing it then. I swear I've asked at least 7 different people and they all told me that the cat works in pvp and that's why they are so strong.

I love it when the ignorant complain instead of trying to learn.

    1. cat is not the only companion to transfer stats
    2. cat does not work in pvp

^ Wtf. A cleric with double my Power and I'm a TR.

Congratulations on having such a powerful character.

I assume you're a heavy cash shopper and not one of the ones who got away with exploiting.

What I find incredibly stupid is how people who want to whine or can't play are now saying everyone with a cat got via exploit...hard to accomplish when the rollback has taken care of most if not all of that or they cry because someone decided to pay for something with Zen.

The above poster is a perfect example.

Are you brain dead or just that much of a cry baby, first off it's not the only " augment-able " companion in the game, it's just the one every one is using atm for the most part. Second of all the crying and whining about what you think is an unbalanced broken issue is actually the entire purpose of that companion. So no it wont be changed or removed get of yourself stop crying and learn to play

So your saying the cat does help in PvP? There is no way I am going to get a cat just to PvP. I will just be done with this game then.

Actually I never said that :) I'm not aware that any companion can be used in pvp if it can be then
    1. it's either a function of the game which means tough luck for you and any one else that doesn't like it
    2. two some one found away around the blocking of companions in pvp.
Also I've yet to have a problem in pvp I have three 60s with 10k gs
    A cw
    A tr
    And a gwf
I'm good, like to think i'm very good though that doesn't mean that I am, I've gotten face rolled tons of times and I've in turn beaten people down just as well. The point is this game requires at least a moderate level of skill this is not wow... If you don't have at least a slight amount of skill and common sense you will suck period end of story and you don't even need that much just a little lol

The cat is just a little cat that basically follows you around and does nothing but buff you with what ever runes and gear you've put on it

So the SS posted is BS?

Just because the forums warriors and great defenders of NW claim it's false does not necessarily mean it is.

So NO companions work for PvP? Ok then is it a bug? or just BS?
