I love the knockback mechanic- and there is a tradeoff involving losing drops, of course.
If the level design wasn't so cheap and dependant on fatal falls all the time, it would be less of an issue, of course. If some of the falls were more "mobs run around a bit and come back, bringing a mob train", there would be a tradeoff to consider. Being able to knock mobs onto spikes is hugely satisfying and always feels like a slick move- and is only occasionally possible.
So, nerfing the hell out of the ability to knock mobs off is the cheap and easy way to deal with things. Stopping making levels where constant fatal drops and waves of cookie cutter adds are your only ideas would be a better long-term option. Really, it's not so far from the ultimate lazy level designer trope- the tiny platforms hovering mysteriously over lava
(Also, I feckin' hate constant near death platforming, it feels cheap and lazy, and makes me twitchy. It's not really fun, a lot of the time)
I love knocking off ledges and will do it every chance I get on my CW and my GF.
I have also been knocked of a ledge by a mini boss blast so when someone stated earlier that they could do that = well buddy they already have.

If pushing mobs of cliffs isnt intended by cryptic heres what u can do to fix it :
Remove Shield skill, Remove Repel , Remove mob push back skills , remove edges/cliffs ,...
almost all of the instances have way to many adds for them to be fun.
booting them off the cliff makes it fun.
otherwise the dungeon runs are just plain annoying and long.
Sure, it's fun for you, but next thing you know mobs will pick up and this strategy and start knocking players off ledges. Who will be having fun then!
Seriously though, if it trivialises content it's probably not healthy for the game.
I've had it happen to me, once so far, knocking me off a ledge onto spikes. I guess we'd better start reporting the mobs for exploitation of a game mechanic.
Reading comprehension is essential in a medium that requires reading for communication.

I've definitely been "knocked" (more like pushed) off a cliff before by mobs so it can happen. However, I don't think I've been plainly launched into the abyss
The drops of this game's "trash mobs" trivializes the encounters in the first place. People don't receive ID scrolls anymore, and the only things that drop are rank 4 enchants, pots and greens. So with one trivialized from the get-go and the other two being mildly useful, what reason do people have to kill trash mobs other than to go past them?
At least other games, mobs drop a decent enough amount of currency to let you keep up with repairs/potion costs. This game has made the term "trash mobs" even more of a reality. You wonder why people don't like not being able to push things? Think about it some more.
Well It's not only faster to do it, It's also really really fun, lol.
I understand why it has to be fixed, but at the same time i really enjoy it and wish it would stay this way.
Yeah. us Great Weapon Fighters totally enjoyed being made irrelevant.

If I worked in the development team for NW I would make a case for knocking to my boss REAL QUICK.
