Nope, I'd rather blame the exploiters that kept abusing something during Open Beta versus bugging the issue and moving along....

It's not the Exploiter's fault they found an exploit and kept exploiting it.

Op is a exploiter trying to justify his exploiting lol.
It is like a bank robber saying the vault was open I had to steal the money, not my fault it is the banks.

It's the exploiter's fault they found an exploit and kept exploiting it. Why would you type a negative value in the AH? They were looking to exploit, they found an exploit, and exploited it, which is why they are called exploiters.

OP is stating that they were reported. They just weren't fixed in a timely fashion. Hince the current state of the game.

Some issues were in closed beta and were known. Still here. They made a lot of money off Hotn and guardian founder packs though.

A new shard is required if they are not willing to wipe. Little exploits no big deal, but we have 4-5 HUGE exploits that are/were destroying the game.

Eh.. You know, if you found an exploit you could report it instead of exploiting it. But hey I guess that's not how it works around here.

P.S. I can't believe there isn't going to be an AD wipe. How are the new players or the non-exploiters supposed to buy anything with the economy being so broken lol.

Funny, these sound suspiciously like what I would expect exploiters to say...

LOL that's blaming someone else that you are getting fat because they are eating a doughnut. You know who I blame if this game fails? All of the self righteous asshats like OP here that feel like they are entitled to something.

Cryptic is a joke, as am I for once again being made a fool by them. Both CO and STO were nigh unplayable when they were released into the wild. Why I thought this game would be different I have no idea.

A string of game breaking exploits, terrible communication with the community, terrible pricing in the shop, Dollar=Euro policy, Laggy servers, no intent to set up any servers for Europe...

It's a **** shame because despite many issues the game still seemed like it could become something great.

It's not the murders fault that he is able to kill people. It's the victims fault for not being able to defend themselves?

Its not the horses fault it kept getting beaten long after it was dead either.../shrug.

I dont know whats worse, the term "beta" being used to justify everything that can possibly go wrong, or the fact that the most valuable single piece of currency in this game is now "cats". Guess we have to ride them now, since all the horses have been beaten to death. :p

Nope, I'm going to blame the exploiters, just as I would in any other game.

I blame them both, but Cryptic a little more.

They frankly have a history of ignoring player reports of bugs/problems and having policies of not fixing problems until enough players complain about them. This creates problems like todays and even worse leads to decisions being left to the whiniest players.. Not good either way.

Nice false equivalency there. So you're actually comparing taking advantage of a bug inside a video game to gain an advantage (not illegal), to killing people (illegal)? Wow, you're an idiot.

There's always going to be exploiters, cheaters, thieves, hackers in every game. It is what it is.

But who the hell runs their QA team? How could they let something as game-breaking as this -AD AH exploit go unnoticed/unfixed? Something that greatly impacts the economy and balance of this game?

I don't really mind all the other bugs, but this one is a major cluster****!

This game is really fun, but I'm having major doubts about supporting this company.

gto, exploiter, trying to blame others and justify game breaking exploitation that causes everyone to suffer. Go cower in a corner somewhere.

    I'm seriously confused by this.

What did it break? How did it ruin the economy?

Really, there is no economy in the game. The AH has nothing on it worth buying other than consumables, or cosmetic stuff.

What it did do was rob Cryptic of cash since people were getting stuff for free instead of paying for it like a normal person.

Yeah the exploiters are pathetic selfish rejects of society, but I don't think it really hurt the game as a whole.

It's like blaming the police because there are criminals in the world. I mean, if they don't catch them, it means that society approves their acts, right?

It's not like these people will do everything and anything to break the game in order to satisfy their low instincts, hm?

The Cat-astrophe is just a funny irony that shows the misery of the human condition when they give up to greed.

It's completely different. A bank robber actually has a good deterrent of getting caught. Apples and oranges.

Leaving that many exploits open to abuse is incompetent. When you make an MMO it is a guarantee people will be looking to find exploits. You want another metaphor? How about amazon selling your product for free on their website? Is it the people who took advantage of it that are to blame? It's an invalid argument of course, but no more invalid than yours. Apples and oranges. Metaphors are rarely valid.

The most recent "exploit" would be akin to if someone discovered that if you were wearing sunglasses, ATM machines would spit out 100 $20 bills per minute for you.

Cryptic designed the game to be entirely based on currency. You can buy every piece of gear, and the best items are things you HAVE to buy (cats, enchants, etc).

Calling people who took advantage of this colossal coding mistake "exploiters" and comparing them to thieves or criminals is naive, absurd, and borderline sociopathic. As if you can really judge a person's character based on whether they stop and collect $20 bills spewing out of an ATM machine while 100 other people within eyeshot are doing the same.

There's a big difference between cheating and holding out your hat when money is falling from the sky.

What if you could log into your online banking using ALL CAPS and if you did it multiplied your savings by 1000? Yeah, you'd do it. And so would everyone else. And that wouldn't make you diseased, it would make you smart.
