Can you trade money or AD to an alt?

I only found one thread about AD and it said something about putting them up then taking them down for sale. Later on that thread someone said that was fixed so, it can no longer happen.

I'm making a new GF since I don't want to pay for a respec and refeat. I was wondering if there was an easy way to give my new character those things.

Nope, because that would be easy. You need to pay PWE more money to make things easy.

trade AD for zen, and change it back to Ad for the same price that works, also suppose to be some trick to do it that way by canceling i dunno...

    Cancelling works.
To transfer AD: Make a buy Zen for 100 AD trade for as much AD as you want to transfer. Cancel.
To transfer Zen: Make a sell Zen for 500 AD trade for as much Zen as you want to transfer. Cancel.

This will work without any issues until the the price range for trades equals 100 or 500 AD respectively.

You can trade gold via a middle-man that you trust.

It just seems silly it's so hard to trade currency but it's A'OK to send miners through the mail.

It works even BETTER if the prices hit, because then you get Zen and you can wait a day for the prices to change and get more AD than you started with. :)

I tried this but I must have done something seriously wrong. I ended up losing around 100k AD and didn't get anything in return.

Make sure you select the correct option (ala NOT make a buy Zen for 500 AD trade, and NOT make a sell Zen for 100 AD trade).

It'll set it to the current best bid fortunately, which might or might not be salvageable, depending.

Also, after cancelling, it's in account balance, you have to withdraw from the balance for whichever alt you want to use the Zen/AD with.

Nope. Yes I think it's silly that you can't trade currency within your own account.

It's a shard balance, not account. Turns out i accidentally made one of my characters on beholder and my 3 others are on mindflayer lol.

You can no longer trade AD across toons on the same account using the Zen-AD market!! I tried doing it and ended up losing 100k AD in the process. Since I am a casual player who only earns about 7-10k AD a day per toon, that sucked!!

Hmm, then why did my 100k AD disappear? I am 100% certain that it is gone now as I checked AD amounts prior to attempting the transfer.

Did you withdraw it from the exchange?

Yep. I put up 100k AD at a low rate of 50AD/Zen (since it wasn't going to really sell anyways) with one toon. Then I cancelled the transaction, switched to another toon, and attempted to withdraw the AD. The AD disappeared from the ZAX, but my other toon's AD amount did not increase at all. :(

(Sorry I resurrected an old thread - I did not notice the date when I first responded.)

Occasionally I've known people to accidentally buy Zen because they misunderstood how to transfer, but the capped market and queue backlog would prevent even that from happening now.

You need to cancel your order, then withdraw the AD on the character that wanted it.

Edit: Submit a customer service ticket. They should be able to see an activity log for your account indicating what you should have.

Before I submit a ticket, is this a legal activity in accord with the game rules? It seems like this may be more of a way to bypass the regular game system, since the new bank account sharing allows gold and item transfer across toons, but does not allow AD transfer. Just worried about breaking the rules.

It's been included in official FAQ info for some of their other games, though not specifically Neverwinter. Still seems like a fairly safe bet. (Someone ferreted this out recently, I know not where.)

All you really need to say is that you cancelled your order and tried to withdraw the AD and it vanished instead of going to the character's total. They should be able to see it in their records.

Did you check your own transaction log? It might help point out where things went wrong.

Quoted from angrysprite's F.A.Q. Neverwinter Economics for New Players

    http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?137001-F-A-Q-Neverwinter-Economics-for-New-Players&highlight=transfer+astral+diamonds+alternate
To transfer ("unbind") Astral Diamonds to your alternate characters you must list them for sale in the Zen Exchange. You can obviously sell them for Zen, but if your intent is to transfer them to one of your alternate characters, you will immediately delist (revoke) your Zen exchange offer. When you do this, there will be an Astral Diamond surcharge cost deducted (the sink), but the remainder will then be deposited into an account-wide "bank" (meaning your Perfect World account). Now you can withdrawal your Astral Diamonds from here while playing any character on your account.

OK. I get the gamer moron of the month award! I did not notice I had to go back to the FIRST tab in the ZAX to reclaim the AD from the exchange. I saw the button yesterday at the bottom of the pop-up window. Duh!!!

Sorry to disrupt the forum over my foolishness. :)

Its been endorsed by official statement since back in beta. no worries about it being legit.
