. . . . . It's called a player driven economy. As the game continues to be flooded with items, ADs and Zen, demand will drop and thus so too shall prices. Things will happen to drive demand back up and then it will fall again. This is the basics economy, indeed.
So you are saying there are more items flooded into AH in the past 10hr than the past two weeks COMBINED?
And sure...why not. Lots of people discovered a few exploits recently and were prolly able to farm like crazy with little to no remorse or fear of backlash. A flood of items in the AH could easily be explained by something like that.
(Not explaining it, but apparently, somewhat recently there was an exploit that allowed a GF to infinitely stack dmg and one hit end game bosses. That could very well explain the AH shift. Lots of people doing that and pretty much solo farming end game dungeons to get end game gear to sell)
Just a speculative theory.

. . . . .Or it could be people's long auction listings are expiring and being re-listed cheaper. Frankly, I don't see this massive change you're speaking of, I do see dropping prices but not on the scale you seem to be expressing.

is an exploit, allowing groups to one shot every boss in the game, more then likly they are abusing this, to farm gobs of epics, and throw them on the AH for AD...thus flooding the market like mad.
its like flipping items on runescape. You get a group of rich players, buy specific item(s) on the auction House until there are no more left and hold until the demand for them has increased drastically, at this point everyone in the group drop all their item(s) back to the Auction House and make millions / billions (runescape gold that is)

It's been at a steady 370-380 ish for a while and slowly dropping.
Dipped as low as 330 during one part of the day, then I checked later that evening and it was up to ~460 Oo
