respecs are hardly needed although a few are of "use" when learning.
..learning which feats and powers don't work properly, and are a waste of points, yes. It's fun to set a massive TARP and then charge people to clamber out, it seems.
They insist this is a beta. That means we are beta testers; not people playing a live game. And as beta testers, our function here is to hammer on the game and test everything.
Not even massively.com buys that tripe any more; a lot of people are getting wise to the "oh, but it's a beta" with a hungry, hungry cash shop trick now. It's a game, an extant, poorly-maintained buggy game. I know that I am preaching to the converted here, and you're painfully aware of it, but it bears repeating. Weasel words.
If it were really a beta, then the fact that a lot of things that you can spec into are just plain broken would be interesting curiosities; you could spec out of them, no problem and the total failure to fix them would be in some way understandable. However, expecting people to pay to avoid these bugs.. well, it's enough to make me want a new tinfoil hat.
Re-speccin' ingame should be a lot easier and a lot cheaper, especially for the first few times.
Neverwinter doesn't explain what some spells even do as far as damage etc. and by the time you learn you've already got other skills set.
btw... it is beta! so, when they go changing skills, paragons, etc later. Then we'll all be crying for this change.
imo, respeccin' should be really cheap!

OP: Seems like you have some experience with behavior analysis.
I also tweeted them about this, linking to this thread (altho there are countless similar) - let's see if they respond and manage to justify their standpoint. (They do answer tweets, in some cases, and watch the forums).
Let's hope they realise the value in communicating with your playerbase - the ones who any Dev worth his salt knows are the ones that matter.
