Unable to connect to patch server / failed to connect to account server

Hey Guys,
I have not been able to get into this game at all since it opened up 5-6 hours ago. The problem I am having is that my launcher is trying to connect to some patch server to be updated but keeps timing out. I'm not sure if this is a known issue or not, but I thought I would reiterate the concern here in the hopes that some solution I have overlooked comes to light.
It must also be noted that I have tried bypassing the launcher, but through that route I get the 'trying to connect to account server' timeouts.
Any help/assistance would be welcomed,
