Admin: Stormdragon has just spent a thousand Zen on lock-box keys and all he has to show for it is the same silvery enchantment, you can find him in the Driftwood tavern sobbing uncontrollably.
Haha!! Someone should make a real shirt with the quote:
"I spent $1000 opening lockboxes in Neverwinter Online, and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!"
You could even replace the "$1000" or make it "AD" or "Zen", but I think that would be hilarious! XD

OK, so there is a way you can kinda get rid of it.
Rearrange hud, move Normal notifications to the most out of the way place possible. At least at that point its hiding where your least likely to look. Still cant get rid of it, and cant turn it off in chat, but I have mine hiding under chat, under XP bar. Makes life more livable.
I for one dont see the point of the announcements. SO someone got a big item from a lottery box. Big deal. This isn't a casino mmo.
You might want to look closer, yeah, it is. The whole lockbox thing is just a big lottery. Potential to win a big prize, but far more likely to win junk. Crafting boxes are the same way. Spend money. Maybe you'll get something good for your profession, but more likely you will get some fairly common item that you have no use for.
I don't see them stopping that anytime soon because, for them, that is all that the game is about, at this point.
STO has the same bloody thing. People started complaining like crazy when all the gamblers were getting Cardassian Galor class ships from lockboxes. Now there is a feature to prevent the notices across the screen AND chat. Yes, they have separate options to tick. Keep complaining about the spam and they might just allow the same options in THIS game that they have in their other one.

TYVM for this!
unless they want this game to be renamed to everpay online; they should remove this obvious and annoying feature asap!!
