While I don't expect everything to be free. I do expect certain elements of the game to be free or low-cost. I should not have to pay out my backside to customize what armor appears on my character in PvE, for instance. The game has mechanics in place to allow the FREE use of this, but the game developers chose a more expensive 'appearance carry-over' grind. Other than pure profit, there's no reason why this system should have ever seen the light of day. Instead of having to spend AD on changing armor appearance, just let us use that second tab that everyone's been given for social appearance.
It's really -that- simple. The more I look at this game, the more it utterly infuriates me just how hard they're working to separate me from my hard-earned money, when it's simple: Make a good game, and I'll give you money. Give me options for free, and I'm more likely to part with actual cash for additions to those options. Make those additional options cheap, and I'll feel that I'm getting my money's worth and continue to buy.
Successful Free to Play games have done this, and it's -worked-. Right now, this reeks of temporary money grab, rather than a long-term investment into a game. 'Let's hit them for what they've got, as quickly as possible and have them move on'. It's why the gameplay tends to be shallow, and why the game starts to become repetitive. It's one of the reasons why Champions is struggling right now, because they stopped investing as many resources to keep the game updated. They add some small things here and there, but generally speaking, the players feel that PWE has forgotten about the game.
Not everything with a 'bit' of grind. Some prices are ridiculously high and you will need lot more than just a 'bit of grind to get those.
why, if what I have read is true on conversion rate....you can make about .80 to 1.20 a day in AD maxed out and converted. That's not bad at all...a week to get a respec token.
But this is a F2P game, this is exactly what you support by playing and spending money in a F2P game and every single person who supports this deserves exactly this kind of treatment from the greedy scummy used car salesmen at Cryptic/PWE.
I want it to be as intrusive and offensive as possible, because that is the only thing that will put people off of this F2P scam.
